I'm not sure if anyone actually cares about this type of thing, but my guild's been doing some run challenges - my challenge was to do D&N without a scratch; here's a video for any of you interested in watching! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMLTRfH-Vck

Any sort of strange runs you've done/would like to see? Tortofist-only vana has to be the oddest thing I've seen in this game, but I'm sure some of you can top that easily.

yep

Yep, lots of players like self-imposed challenges. You can find many threads by searching Google for something like "challenge run site:forums.spiralknights.com" (without the quotation marks). Congratulations on your DaN run. Have fun.

Personal challenges, huh?

I've got one. Finish any of the four danger missions on elite, solo, without dying.
.
So far that one's been unreachable, but maybe that's just because i'm bad :P

that's not rly a challange when you have been doing prestige missions for years

there was a period when vitapods were scarce af and u were lucky if you actually found one during the mission (but there was ALWAYS a freaking troll vita15 on d26 -.-) it was mildly challanging then

Some days before Gunner Update I made elite RJP run with Blitz Needle, Plague Needle and Maskeraith with piercing harness. Died once, on first depth.

Um.

I've got one. Finish any of the four danger missions on elite, solo, without dying.

If you want the hardmode version I did a while back, carry two knight-ranks through heart of ice (vanguard rank) while they're using cutters and a shadow alchemer without dying.

But some other challenges I did were dreams and nightmares runs with strange loadouts. Cutter + pulsar proved a bit harder than it should have, but flourish + tortofist can get pretty fun, albeit time consuming.

As for some other challenges, one I've been dying to do is a team dauntless delver where every player specializes in one damage type. This means the elemental resist person can only use elemental weapons, shadow can only use shadow weapons, etc. Normal person would have to use plate armor or cobalt.

For extra fun try making each player specialize with certain weapon types, but they can still use more than just one kind for livelihood's sake (normal damage person might want to be a bomber, but bring a sudaruska for protection). Even more hard mode is limiting items to star level, so that you can only have 2 5* items, 2 4* items, and the rest need to be 3* and under. Alternatively, 1 5*, 3 4*, rest 3*.

Requiring a full party, get two teams of two on into the Lichenous Lair.
One person on the team has to run from start to finish while holding a vial while that partner helps to help them through.

One of two conditions must be fulfilled for victory to be achieved.
Either the opposing team drops their vial or one team makes it to the lift.

When you kill the enemies is not important as everyone can return to harvest once the first team reaches the end.
However, I feel like this may not work out.

oh my goodness

Vial Race needs to be a thing now. It's brilliant.
.
What would happen if both teams dropped their vial, though? Or the helper(s) died?

Welp.

Vial racing does sound pretty neat. I like it!

Or the helper(s) died?
Need to hope that you don't get a forced arena and that the buttons are in plain sight I'd say. Helper dying would likely just need to revive though.

Whoever drops the vial first loses. If the helper is unable to continue their services, that team loses. This could be considered an automatic victory for the other team.

Hopefully it goes without saying that sabotaging the opposing team's efforts is encouraged. I can gather that either enemy displacement (by knockback or shield bumping), stunning an enemy (not always beneficial), or freezing a slew of enemies in the opposing team's path can be used as methods to capitalize on a victory.

One concern, however, is how the winning team can confirm the victory legitimately. As I rethink this, the lair may make that too difficult to determine. So instead of racing through a lair, it may be better to run through regular levels with the objective being to have the carrier make his/her way to the party button first.

As silly as this sounds, each button reached first is one point. Reaching the lift makes for two points. If there is a tie at the time either/or both teams reach the lift, restart on the next floor.
