Hi! I am always having internet trouble because, you know, satellite internet is actually pretty terrible. I am always playing three seconds off from the server and disconnecting frequently. It's gotten worse as of late, and I just wish there was an offline version of Spiral Knights. Like you download it once and play. You would still have missions and clockworks, but lots of features, multiplayer features would be useless. I know this game is designed to be multiplayer, and I love it so much, but my internet does not.

I understand this would come with many complications, because some people would cheat on the offline mode, you know, naughty knights and all. But I would just love to, for once, be able to be 100% in sync with the game, not constantly guessing where everything is. I would love to run all of the missions solo with my new found legit skills. I get this will probably never ever happen for many reasons, but it would be cool. I mean, it would have people be offline from the game, which is the opposite of what they want.

Any who, thanks for reading. One day I will get better internet and stop complaining, but for now, I can't.

.....

This would actually work in the current version of the game considering that rarities are random drops. Back in the days of Mist energy you needed ME or CE to craft items and if the game had an offline mode you couldn't craft anything that needed more than 100 E to craft.

Hmm.

In its current state? Probably not gonna happen. I'd love an offline mode where loot doesn't drop so you could play lootless with your online knight. Since there's no "reporting you got loot" ever made to the official SK servers, it's fine.

However, an offline version of Spiral Knights that communicates with the online version and syncs up playtime and loot between each other would be no. It would be cool, however, if we had a "limited connection" mode that allowed for single player online play, but you'd be hosting your instance entirely on your machine, allowing for absolutely no lag. Loot drops would be calculated by the server still, so loot drops wouldn't drop until you regained connection to the server, but you'd rather be able to play correctly and have delayed loot instead of having loot drop instantly and be delayed while playing.

EDIT: gonna birth that second half into its own suggestion

Love the general concept.
