I don't know about the OS part. It surprises me that this Java-based game that runs on Linux wouldn't be able to work on SteamOS. Then again, I guess that it doesn't work with Steam on Linux.

the idea still stands

it's kind of stupid that a game that works perfectly good on linux doesn't run on the steam linux version. and yes i saw that tread thinking OOO might have started to support the stream controller but it's just some adding one new setting for it.You would need to rebind the every key individually if you want to change your settings and that changes the whole point of steam controller that uses steam's community to share different key layouts.
