Construct:
Recycler: A large, automated machine designed to dismantle sections of the Clockworks and recover the scrap metal for future use.
Appearance: Resembles a Scuttlebot (retains the rounded head, single eye, and four mechanical legs), but roughly 4 times larger with sloped and armored sides, a pair of mortars on its back, and large spinning sawblades mounted on the front.
Found in any Deconstruction Zone, with usually 1 to 2 Recyclers per DZ.
Attacks:
Sawblade charge: Charges forward 15-20 tiles like a Deadnaught, dealing heavy damage to Knights in the way.
Mortar bombs: Fires a series of shells into the air that land and explode on the ground.
-Tier 1: Fires 2 shells
-Tier 2: Fires 4 shells
-Tier 3: Fires 8 shells
No status variations. All Recyclers have a chance of inflicting Medium Stun on a target.
Special Drops:
-Tier 1: 0.2% chance of dropping the 1* Rocket Tube, which fires a single, unguided rocket. Resembles the head of a Tier 1 Rocket Puppy.
Charge attack: Launches the Searing Edge charge attack behind the player while also firing the rocket forward.
-Tier 2: 02% chance of dropping the 3* Rocket Launcher, which fires a single rocket with slight homing capabilities. Resembles the head of a Tier 2 Rocket Puppy.
Charge attack: Launches the Fireburst Brandish charge attack behind the player while also firing the rocket forward.
-Tier 3: 0.2% chance of dropping the 5* Heatseeker, which fires a single rocket with advanced homing capabilities and a Good chance of causing Fire Med upon hitting a target. Resembles the head of a Tier 3 Rocket Puppy.
Charge attack: Launches the Combuster charge attack behind the player while also firing the rocket forward.
All of these guns have a single-shot clip and the reload time of an Iron Slug. The also immobilize the player for 1/5ths of a second while firing.
Beast:
Squig: Mobile fungi that ambush travelers in hopes of an easy meal. Biotechs have a number of conflicting theories on why fungi evolved arms and legs in the first place.
Appearance: A vaguely humanoid mushroom the size of a Retrode with a pair of Lumber-esque eyes. (Large eye to the right, small eye to the left, tiny eye in the center.) "Vanilla" squigs deal Stun.
Found in all Wolver Dens and Aurora Isle levels.
Attacks:
Smash: Smashes both hands into the ground, creating a small explosion the size of a single shard from a shard bomb.
Spore Cloud (Tier 2 and lower only): Spreads a cloud of noxious spores around itself like a Haze Bomb. Radius and duration of the cloud increase at Tier 3.
Berserk (Tier 3 only): Gains a temporary Rage Aura and proceeds to spin around in circles, dealing heavy damage to any Knight it touches. Damage inflicted on the Squig during Berserk is reduced by half. The attack is similar to the Royal Jelly's third phase.
Status Variations:
Squig (Normal, stun)
Amanita* (Poison)
Voltcap (Shock)
Shiverspore (Freeze)
Searing Squig (Fire)
*Real life Amanitas are highly poisonous mushrooms accounted for 90% of all fungi-related deaths per year.
First: 10x the size? No. Just no. That's way too large. I say make it 3 to 5 times the size.
Second: This seems like it could be a sort of miniboss, and considering the way Decon Zones are made, 3 could be too many for 1 level. I'm thinking it would be better as a rare-ish spawn (like a 20% chance for a spawn in each decon zone?), and only 1.
Third: Remove 2 shells from the T3's mortar attack.
Fourth: I think the sloped/armored sides should increase its defense (probably 1/2 damage taken when it's hit from the sides, so to deal full damage you have to stay in front where it can hit you or go behind it while it attacks).
Fifth: I vote for it to be able to spawn Wisp-like sawblades, which would then travel around randomly. Instead of stopping in place and becoming vulnerable + harmless, they would explode at the time a Wisp would stop. This could either just knock down enemies nearby, or deal some damage to them as well. These sawblades could also destroy blocks, and they can be destroyed early by players. They would probably be released in the same numbers as shells (2/4/8). (Also, they would probably spawn from the sides, with 1/2/4 from each side).
Finally - With all that done, give it some kind of better drop. Maybe 1-3 materials, increased crowns, and possibly even a really, really low chance of a Darkfang Shield in T3 (or even only stratum 6)?
