So it's this topic again.

A guildmember playing on Aeria just lost their account because Aeria doesn't support SK anymore (not sure how this works but thats what I was told). I've been playing on kongregate since 2011 and I really don't want to lose this account. I've tried to find a way to do this on google so I found this: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/92464
That seems really complicated so i don't want to try it if there is a chance that a mess things up (it only says how to do it for windows 7 and I have 10 now)

Another question I have is this; if I do as that guide says does it solve my problem or is my account still somehow bound to Kongregate? Will I lose everything anyway if Kongregate does something similar to what Aeria did?

The account is still bound to Kongregate. That method lets you play without having to go through their website and using the browser client.

But you might have to get a new authentication token every once in a while (on Aeria you did, that method doesn't work now either)

If you really want to unbind it you can ask support. Officially they don't do this, though.

Then you can just leave it as a regular SK account or convert it to Steam.

Has your friend tried to contact the GMs? Losing their account like that seems kind of harsh.
