The next March of the Tortodrones event.

At some point in the close future we should be getting the next March of the Tortodrones event as we've only had 1 so far in 2015 I believe. When the event first started we got the Tortoshield lines (which are by far my favorite shields in the game) and they covered each damage type including normal. the next time we got the event we got the matching Tortofist handguns (kinda strange and don't really work as handguns but they're ok). The 3rd time we got the event we didn't get anything new which i'm not surprised by. The forth one should be coming soon and in all honesty it's something I suspected they'd do at some point.

Craftable drakon pod tortodrone reskin.

Here are my reasons why this should be added.

1: The drakon is currently the only battle sprite without a craftable pod. During the Black Kat event we got the craftable Seraphynx Black Kat reskin (which was the first to start the reskin battle sprite gimmic/trend) next we got the craftable Punkin Maskeraith during the dark harvest festival. We did end up getting a reskin drakon pod, however it was a super rare chance from a prize box and was uncraftable. and with the spritly prize boxes we got more reskins (along with the other two sprites) but still nothing craftable.

2: March of the Tortodrones needs some new prize to spice it up. that's all i got for reason 2, pretty self explanatory.

3: The Drakon playstile fits the Tortodrones perfectly. Be it I've never seen a Tortodrone spit fire but hear me out. The Drakon battle sprite is described to be the embodiment of power and that's just what it is. Drakon fits best for tanking your way through things and overpowering your enemies, this is exactly what Tortodrones do. Tortodrones basically fight like this giant wall and try to overwhelm you with shear force. Not only this but I've been also been able to use the Drakon's 3rd ability with the Tortodrone shield bash for a pretty effective combo.

4: The other two sprites don't fit well with Tortodrones. I really have no reason to explain other then Tortodrones aren't stealthy or supportive mobs. the Maskeraith Snarblepup as an example works well because the Snarbolaxe plays similar to the Maskeraith being that it often sneaks around your attacks often avoiding you until it knows it can strike, even digging underground to bypass you kinda like a Maskeraith's cloak.

Please comment stating if you have your reasons why it should/shouldn't happen below but before I end there is one last thing I want to state about how this would work.

If the Drakon Tortodrone pod is added it will likely cost 10,000 crowns to craft, use a Drakon pod (obviously) to craft and 28 shell shards total. now before you say 28 is a bit high or takes allot of grinding for the average person, keep in mind 28 shell shards is the total number it takes to craft any of the Tortodrone items from 3 star to 5 star. 10,000 crowns cause that's the cost of the others.

Thanks for reading.

I'd be down with a craftable Drakon :P overall a tortodrone as a battle sprite would be cool.

Change the fire particle effects to crystals and you have a sprite

Or they could make it a new sprite... I mean we could really use that blue/green sprite about now.

I do agree though, that a craftable Drakon would be swell.

Agreed that we all want that green/blue sprite but it wouldn't make sense to have it be craftable via event. It wouldn't be fair for new players. I think the only way they would add new sprites is if they were available along side the already existing ones and you can test them out in early missions just like the other ones (with the added option of buying them via the depot)

Agreed!

Sounds like a nice idea. Though I want to say one thing: What about change up the recipe slightly to make it more consistent with the other event-exclusive craftable Sprites? Whatever Materials would make sense to build a robot tortoise... As for the "fire-breathing Tortodrone" thing, no need to mention that because we already have a Sprite modeled after a demon ghost creature which has light-based abilities and can't deal Shadow damage.

Eh.

it wouldn't make sense to have it be craftable via event. It wouldn't be fair for new players.

Hasn't stopped them from putting new and unique weapons and shields into events (obsidian, tortofists/shields). A new sprite wouldn't be too bad - better than them putting it in a prize box exclusively.

However tortodrakon would be neat. Fills in the event reskin gap and gives another farm reason for older players.

"Hasn't stopped them from putting new and unique weapons and shields into events (obsidian, tortofists/shields). A new sprite wouldn't be too bad - better than them putting it in a prize box exclusively."

the difference between a fresh new battle sprite and those weapons is that the weapons/gear you get from the mysterious alchemy machine (excluding the cat gear) are not upgrades to weapons or completely "new". the intention for those gear is "after you've become vanguard, done the main story and got your gear, why not try this new gear that's kinda like yours but different" the best example of this is the obsidian weapons as they're almost identical to other weapons in the game with in its alchemy line other than added poison effect. a new battle sprite on the other hand has the potential to not only majorly influence a play style if you actually use it, but it also works as a method of finally getting rid of your blue/green minerals and i dont think thats the kinda thing that should be restricted to 2x during the year.

(tbh this conversation is kinda fun :D )

i didn't say that the recipe would only use the shells, but it is the main material needed. i imagine they'll add other things such as scrap metal, heavy gears, sun silver, miracloth, ext.

I love this idea. While I don't particularly like reskins and would prefer a new sprite for b/g minerals, a craftable Drakon would certainly be fun to go after.

@Vohtarak-Forum : March of the Tortodrones is not exclusive to the month of March, and it happened twice in 2014.

For me it does not matter if it would be a drakon reskin or a entirely new sprite. If there is any tortodrone-pet, then I would certainly long for it - unless it will be in a prizebox and would sell for 3kk crowns, in this case not.

But having it as optional crafting additional to my other 8 Torto-items, I would appreciate that event even more <3

Yea, I definitelly love Tortodrones <3
