Hate week?

Just a random question, but is there a secret get annoyed at SK week I wasn't invited to? Over the past week or two, there have been quite a few threads about Rarities and how annoying they are. (fire crystals and orbs mainly) Rarities are here for a reason people, why all of the sudden annoyance?
Just askin'

Rarities are here for a reason people, why all of the sudden annoyance?
You mean other than the fact that some of them are impossible to find?
Other than the fact OOO messed up the drop rate so complete and utterly that post vanguard progression is broken?
Other than the fact that spark of life killed any reasons for co-op? Because why would I revive that loser in my team that had died 5 times with my hard earned sparks?
Other than the fact that SK is now so saturated with cosmetics that there are promo costumes that looks almost the same as the last one?
Other than the fact OOO neglected its fan base for almost two years with next to no external communication?
Other than the fact SK events are gated behind a timer like apocrea, winterfest and BKs so that not all player can enjoy them because of time constraints?
Other than the fact it seems OOO wants us to become so apathetic about these things so in the future they can get away with a blunder?
We have every REASON to be enraged by OOO's wanton neglect of our favorite game.

Anddd Hate week continues, seriously, we need a "Rage I hate OOO, this game is dead" sub-forum, because my beloved suggestions forum is dying a slow death.

Step up first and elaborate to everyone here about that reason. We will try to decorticate the issue from its root.

The reason that Rarities exist is as the same as what elevator passes were: so we don't blitz through the game in 48 hours. To slow us down and make us look at all the reasons to buy energy.

Anddd Hate week continues
And it will continue, as long as we have a bunch of Mary sue OOO cheerleaders around, someone needs to put them in their place.
so we don't blitz through the game in 48 hours. To slow us down and make us look at all the reasons to buy energy.
Now players blitz through the game in half that time, gets frustrated with rarity drops and burns out.

And what do you mean by cheerleaders, and are you referring to me by that statement?, because you don't want to see me in a miniskirt.

With no new changes to how the game is played it is the only logical choice to discuss how the game is currently played. Since OOO has failed to respond to or fix things pointed out by the community no wonder people think that the game is dying or just not in touch with their playerbase. Lets face it, this game has several broken features that the devs haven't worked on and aren't going to. For goodness sakes the Apocrean Event has had a massive memory leak since the first time it ever appeared and yet here we are 4 events and 2 years later and it's still broke.
@ Prof
The suggestions forum has thousands of ideas yet very few have actually been implemented. To quote the most recent GM visit "..."
With no input from GMs people who have suggestions just decide that it would be better to pour their creativeness on a more.... well I could say responsive but with the lack of real GM feedback I would have to say that people prefer a more LIVING crowd compared to the cadaver that was GM responses in the suggestions.

Actually that "..." as you so eloquently put it was from the General Discussion Forums, a response to a call out from the player base to confirm that they were still alive. And actually on the Stranger Prize box Discussion thread we got a conversation out of Aphrodite when she confirmed new content (or at least large changes to Winterfest at the very least)

Cheerleader is referring to all those that dismiss people's complaints and simply call them the 1% (you can call them the OOO white knights if you want), they are the reason why these complaints must continue or otherwise OOO will never get the message.
This is something common with AAA games, do you remember mass effect 3 and how the endings were bad? The fan base was outraged, and EA wanted to wait it out (like they did so many times before), they want the compliant become drawn out and over used, so people become more apathetic about these things over times. EA rushed another game? Well... it is EA being EA, no point in complaining, it getting tiresome, and now EA gets to rush out more games for profit with not much opposition.
Right now OOO is doing the same thing, neglect the fan base for long enough so they would fall into that state of apathy where they no longer care about their blunders, this is the reason why I combat the likes of Bopp, Skeptic and Fangel so much. They are doing the exact same thing as those who are trying to tell the EA fan base to become apathetic and move on while EA reaps in the profit year after year.

Never played any of the Mass Effect games, I'm too poor and put all of my allowance into WoW anyway, but I can sorta see where you are coming, from, not that I'm joining the revolutionary bandwagon.
EDIT: P.S I'm jumping off for a while (lunch calls) so direct any further questions/rage to someone who cares/is here.
EDIT the second: A final comment, the EA comparison doesn't work, and here's why. EA is a corporation (almost) with hundreds of staff members and teams that work on each separate game with little overlap. OOO is 12 or so guys (and gals) sitting at their laptops trying to run 4 or so games at the same time, each with its own angry community to worry about.

And how many angry communities do you think PR staffs of EA have to handle? Mass effect, Assassin's creed, CoD and EA sport, you name it, they are trying to put out the fire on it. Both of these companies have their PRs cut out for them, but even then EA is doing a better job than OOO. Oh and trust me, handling 100 angry mobs is a lot easier than handling 1,000,000 angry and unsatisfyed customers who have just brought your company's rushed and unfinished game.

Have you ever considered that the people you're "combating" just plain enjoy the game?
Because I enjoy the game, and I acknowledge its flaws, but a single flaw with a game isn't enough to make me stop having fun. If you're going to be a downer/hater/whatever you can do that, but the fact that you expect glowing praise and feel heroic doing so is completely a you thing.
I fully encourage you to find a game that you do enjoy playing, and play that. Bopp, myself, and many of these "cheerleaders" you speak of are simply doing exactly this. When something that we don't like happens we speak our minds and don't get caught up in the same complaint threads where we've said the same things over and over. People who complain just to complain aren't people I can deal with. People complaining and willing to problem solve their complaints, able to see every aspect, the root cause of the complaint... Those are people I'm willing to talk to. And you know what? Those who realize they've grown out of the game leave the game instead of being sour at every opportunity given.
You're fighting the people you need to stand beside you. You want the best for the game, but in your eyes it often seems to be "game is dying, i'll help it die faster", just so you can complain about how it died afterwards and/or feel smug because you think you had something to do with it.
I hope that at some point in your angry life you can come to terms with yourself, but we really don't need any more angst around here. Constructive criticisms are great. Angry riots over silence will just net you more silence.

You're fighting the people you need to stand beside you.
Except I am not, I stand alone, no one is my friend or my enemy, I carve my own path, live by my own standards and ideal. Nothing more, nothing less.
"game is dying, i'll help it die faster", just so you can complain about how it died afterwards and/or feel smug because you think you had something to do with it. ]
SK will not die in a roar, only in a whisper as the last of its fan base became 'grown out of the game leave the game instead of being sour at every opportunity given.' , I take no pride in seeing a game dying before me, for all my life, a stranger I remain, my memories will endure, whether SK shuts down or not.
I hope that at some point in your angry life you can come to terms with yourself, but we really don't need any more angst around here.
Maybe I will, but it is not today.

@Bopp
"On a personal note, as someone who reads threads on the same highly repetitive topics over and over again, I am going somewhat crazy here."
I stopped reading threads like that for a reason. And if I somehow do end up reading portions of one thread, I often make one comment and leave the discussion.

Alright, so I'm going to need everyone on Fangel's side to use the valkyrie avatar and everyone on Midnight's side to use the fallen avatar. We're about to redefine the phrase religious warfare....
For real though, I know it's asking a lot, but can we not turn this into a flame war? The people complaining have great points and usually valid criticism. The people "cheer leading" just like the game and hate to see it put down, which is equally valid and wonderful. It should be possible to aim for something together, or at least discuss things civilly.

....We wouldn't be complaining about the game if we didn't like it or at least like it enough to care for it.....
The fact that I'm still here even after nothing has been worked on (visibly) means that I care for this game...

I like how I can discuss us having a discussion about us having a hateful discussion about Spiral Knights.

Complaining is fine. I actively encourage complaints that turn into action - it's just that if you complain and are doing it just because you want to complain... I don't know, it's sort of one of my pet peeves.
Heck just the other day I finally got around to writing a Steam review for Spiral Knights and I tried to outline both the good and the bad. Personally, weapon imbalance, server ping, unique variants, lack of constant updates, etc don't negatively affect my enjoyment of the game. I actively mention what's bad but also propose various solutions. Three Rings doesn't need to use every solution, but stating what the problem is won't get anything fixed - you need to have a fix for it.
...
Fix-it Fangel, let's go with that.

My biggest complaint is the lag..... I can still play the game even with countless promos and whatnot but of all the things not to be in control of my character is the first thing I as a player should control. If I don't have full control... I just can't enjoy the game.

I'm just lucky to have both a fair computer and about 90 ping average to the game server, and since the game is heavily about prediction 90 ping doesn't cause many problems for me.
Server lag is a pretty big problem - framerate stutters is something they can work to improve but is often the computer not the game.

Would be nice if there was a way to heavily optimize the game so the load wouldn't be so bad. I don't mind if the graphics aren't perfect but if this happens I just won't play. (simply because at that point it isn't play it's torture)

That does look like connection lag, despite it claiming to have 4 bars. Battle sprite position is closer to your actual server position and all.
I know that after making my game run on 64bit java instead of steam's 32bit java my game performance increased very heavily. There are ways to optimize java, just game optimizations further would need to be done on Three Rings' side.
People complain on the forums all of the time. Depending on the month, you might see threads about energy prices' being too high, Shadow Key prices' being too high, auto-targeting in Lockdown, Radiants' being too scarce, Chaos/Acheron imbalance, too little new content, the game's being dead, etc. The complaints go in waves because many posters just copy what other players are saying.
These complaints are often fundamentally legitimate. A perfect Three Rings would listen to them.
On a personal note, as someone who reads threads on the same highly repetitive topics over and over again, I am going somewhat crazy here. For example, the lack of new content had discouraged me somewhat, but reading thread after thread about the lack of new content is even more off-putting.
