I played spiral knights religiously for a very long time. Got to vanguard and the highest prestige level (when the knight icon thingy appears next to your IGN). I had a lot of fun in lock-down despite how toxin Feller was and those AA spamming noobs. ^_^ I was one of those players that could probably get a bunch of steam cash by selling all of my assets, but I had kept on to them because of the memories.

Why am I using past tense? Well, it's because of the large break I took from the game over one and a half years ago. I promised myself I would come back if OOO ever open the core or introduce more lore/story. For me at least, late game turned into a banking game, where I found it more lucrative to play the auction house accessory game, eventually becoming a multi-millionaire (in terms of crowns) without paying a single cent. I felt like there was nothing else to do (other then rolling for that ASI VH FF, I guess). What really got me playing were the updates and new content like battle sprites, gunner update, etc. Of course, these updates were so far apart that I simply got bored :( and decided to quit.

FYI, I've done apocrea (or wutever it's called), the kat event thing, the halloween event thing, and winterfest (GOD THAT WINTERFEST MUSIC IS SO GOOD).

So I've recently been in lacking in games to play lately, so I thought I would check back on SK. The announcement page is full of prize boxes and no signs of any NEW events or story coming. It's hard to find mention of new game content in the forums either. Are there any new updates to the game, or new updates coming? (ones that aren't prize boxes or recurring events) How's the game going in general for those vanguards that still play? IDK, I felt like maybe Nick or someone hinted at a huge update somewhere and it's next month and I just missed it. Trying to decide if I should convert my CE to steam stuff or not.
