Hello!
In this section I would like to send a message to the devs about my idea to improve the Costume system.
Lately I've encountered some problems with costume system...

I'd like it if It were able to change the grade of my helmet, armor into the lower ones freely.
I dont say degrading the stats etc. I just want to be able to degrade the look of it.

Solid Cobalt armor is good but... too shiny and I dont like that purple tint in it,(And it throws me off in the battle... TOO SHINY!!!).
Much more I'd prefer to keep that dusty iron'ish look,And I just dont see the sense in buying it since it was in the same armor path I chosed to go.

I just want to be able to degrade,or atleast be able to get some copies of the lower tier armor/helmet that I went through for free.
I dont see any sense in buying lower tier armor'n'helmet just to get my older look.

Im so sorry if I mispelled something or made any grammar mistakes.

I'm a Wizard

I'm not so sure about that. In Spiral Knights its a world of Pay To Look Good.
But the concept is okay. When I made Miracle Robes, I didn't like them. Too orange.
When I look at Azure Cobalt Armor, I didn't like the helmet and the sash.

I'm not so sure that this is gonna happen though.

Nah

While it sounds like a good idea, you'd effectively be getting two items for the price of one. It's Alchemy, not mitosis.

What would work, though, is an Armor Dye system. Dyes could be applied and removed for a fee, and include colors that suited you. Would likely be a small bit less than the cost of making a full 3☆ armor, but would require a larger up-front fee.
Easily more versatile and far more customizable.

Well...

A dye system also negates a lot of the purpose of recoloring gear in the first place. Promo boxes often include armor types in various colors, thus allowing us to dye the base armor wouldn't be the best way of going about this.

Additionally, in the PvP scene, having a dyed armor could change stances on how a set is used. You could be wearing black kat but look like you're using hiss, look wearing chaos but look like you're wearing divine with the right accessories, etc. It's just kind of a mess to work with.

As it stands, the current system is alright. If you want a higher star item as a costume, then you have to work for the higher star item like anything else. If you want that and the version after it, then you get multiples. Lower star items as costumes really aren't too expensive, and 2* ones you could likely buy off someone for 100 energy or less so long as they have the recipe.
