Just wanted to share some of the statistics and pain with you.
Out of 150 1-UV tickets i got 4 very high/max UVs.
A flourish very high against gremlin,
magic cloak fire resistance maximum
and 2xmagic hood with curse resistance maximum.
That's a 2.6% chance to get a very high/max UV for 1-UV tickets.
5.3% chance to get a high.
For me it is one out of 150 good UVs.
RNGesus strikes back
I do seasonal Flourish crafting and ironically, I got two Slime damage bonus High's from them. SK is the greatest troll ever.
Other stats I got: Very High CTR on Flourish, and ASI High on one as well.
Imho crafting is worth much more than buying tickets for rolling UVs. I find higher values much more common in crafting. Seriously. Only thing to roll UVs for are items that can't be crafted or require a 3*, 4* or 5* starting class (e.g. Magnus).
Think about this: you can roll one UV for 20k crowns. You can craft 4 Flourishes for less than 20k crowns. It's likely that you will get a UV with 4 Flourishes. You might even get 2, 3, or 4 UVs, all under the cost of 20k cr. So, if you have a lot of cr, farm for the materials needed or buy from AH, then rage farm the heck out of the 2* gear you wanna craft. Brandishes are sought out for both CTR and ASI, while Flourish is sought out for ASI. You can try Autogun for CTR, Alchemers for CTR or ASI, Wolver or Magic for Status maxes. Lots to choose from. It's easier to rage craft armor/helmets and get money that way, now that I think about it...
Here is the list http://pastebin.com/yD3TiaYb
It isn't crafted all at once, its over time.
I don't really care for 2 or 3 UVs on a flourish, only asi matters there.
You are wrong you only get an UV when you craft something like every 16th time, check the spiral wiki.
I used to ragecraft Brandishes all the time. Of all the 2* weps, Brandishes have the most potentially usable UVs. CTR sells great, ASI is good enough, and +dam vs Grems/Slimes/Constructs/Undead will all sell too. Although the UV chance is closer to 10% rather than 1/16.
If you have a boatload of cash, I'd recommend a combination of the two. Craft a lot, and then roll once on each craft. You can make quite a lot of money back by reselling loads of UVd gear (Even if they're crap UVs).
Ten 2 star item is appr. 50k for one UV. An UV ticket is 20k cr.
Based on the data sets I've seen, a 1/4 UV rate would be too high, and a 1/16 UV rate would be too low. See for example the rate here, which is about 1/8.
1/7 to 1/8 seems more plausible.
There might be other factors that contribute to UV's though. We don't really know. The best way is to see the results over a range of players rather than one.
@Blue-Panther
The reason why I suggest you craft and then roll is because you can sell UV'd gear. The reason why I chose brandishes is because 6/8 possible variants will sell well (at least 7k-8k for a low).
I'll run the numbers later.
**EDIT
Fudging the numbers a bit for easy math...
Let's say you make 9 Brandishes.
- You said 10 Brandishes is about 50k cr to craft, so 9 would be about 45k
- One Brandish gets a UV from crafting
- You punch roll on the remaining 8 Brandishes to get 8 lows, and 6/8 of the lows are usable
- Assuming a usable low sells for 7k cr
The net expense for 9 2* items with UVs would be about 45k + 20k*8 - 7k*8(6/8) = 163k
Rolling 9 times instead on the same Brandish is 180k minus the final sale price of the brandish.
Of course this is all luck based. There's a chance you get CTR Med and your profit margin spikes up dramatically. There's a chance you get a couple beast lows and you lose quite a lot of money. However, there is a chance you get something like +Dam vs Undead VH on a Brandish, while looking for a CTR UV. So instead of just re-rolling and losing the UV, you can sell it.
Don't want to spend my time in this game with the AH and selling stuff.
There is also a chance to get stuff like curse that isn't worth anything.
I would say you sell a low UV only for 5k cr.
Getting an UV every 10th time is pretty optimistic. On the wiki it says that for bombs.
I'm gonna go with rage crafting as probably the best method as long as the gear is low starred. I say this because I told a guildie rage crafting brandishes to rage craft me an ASI VH cutter and then they got two of them within like, 5 to 10 minutes.
So uh, I give rage crafting the fangelic seal of approval.
I have considered adding Unique Variants to my weapons before, but could never really do it on a large scale (I am at an eternal shortage of crowns). Depending on how accurate this data is, I may wait until I'm much better at the game to do this.
Do you have detailed data? If so, please share it with us. Earlier estimates I've seen were 6% and 7%, not 2.6% and 5.3%. But we could always use more high-quality data, to pin down the rates more precisely.
