Returning player question- What are equipment prices based on?

Player returning from before the crafting bind update. I have a Hail Driver and Wise Owlite Shield UV low ele from when I used to merch that I'm trying to price correctly. Before the market priced equipment based on the mats + ce/cr + labour fee for heating equipment (very easy back then).

In the trade chat I've often seen 5.5kE for no UV 5* equipment. What is the price based on now?
I figured this would be the cost of the unbind ticket + mats but does this also take into consideration a heat level of 10 (cost of fire shards)?
Is a level 1 Hail Driver without a UV marketable without a price cut on the 5.5kE? (for meta reasons/cost reasons)

I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could help me figure out the average market price for these items!

hmm

I am doing every gear of the game, and so far i craft they all, the price on AH is way too high to buy it instead of crafting, and way too low to craft it and sell it, and as long you dont use a bind gear, the crafted one will not be bind as well

Not quite

Probably not the best subforum for asking this but at the same time I'm not sure where else you would put it.
Now I'm not a merchant myself, but selling non-UV'd 5* items is much harder now-a-days, since crafting the items is much less expensive.

When you unbind an item, it reverts to heat level 0. A 5* item will always be at least 4kCE due to the unbind cost, but if for some reason you're willing to go under then go you.

It's just the fact that you can buy many items from the Supply Depot for 3.5kCE for 5* items, thus making the 4kCE down payment not really worth it most of the time. If you have event or Basil-recipe items not able to be acquired through the supply depot, then yeah you might be able to sell them, but without UVs the high star market is kind of dead.

The best way to profit off of crafting now-a-days is to either sell sprite food, or "rage craft" a lot of 2* items that are desirable, such as brandishes, magic sets, or wolver sets. Then you sell the items in mass on the auction house - and hopefully you get a few UVs along the way that allow you to profit.

wow

Player returning from before the crafting bind update.

You mean release 2011-05-17? A lot of players threatened to leave after that update, but I haven't seen many come back. Welcome. Or maybe you are just here to sell off your stuff...

As others have said, the total cost should equal crafting + heating + unbinding + profit.

No 5-star fire crystals are needed, because 5-star heat levels are lost anyway. Many veteran knights have lots of 3- and 4-star fire crystals and 5-star orbs of alchemy lying around. So they might ignore those in the total cost too. And then the crafting + heating part ends up pretty small.

But ultimately the unbinding cost is bigger than the raw cost from the Supply Depot, which is already much larger than the do-it-yourself crafting cost. So your market is greatly restricted to impatient/ignorant players or a few special items that are hard to obtain.

Specific price checks, as well as offers to buy and sell, go in the Bazaar forum. You might have more luck with this thread there. Best wishes.

Yeah, there were a lot of

Yeah, there were a lot of angry players on the forums and in game when that patch came out. I felt it took out a lot of merchanting in the game. That being said it didn't affect me too much. I had a lot of free time back in 2011 so I would just merch/sell owlite shields while my duo partner couldn't play. Since we got our 4* equipment and a good amount of CE before the patch it didn't affect us very much.

The reason I'm trying to sell off unbound gear now is to buy that T3 expansion for my duo and I (holy smokes 6400 CE). I've been farming arenas/FSC for the past two weeks but I haven't put much of a dent into that number. I figured I'd need to switch to a bomb set DR + DBB (previous gunner) to be able to duo/solo DAN with two two-slot knights.

Anyways, thanks for the information! I'll probably just try to sell the hail driver for 1.5 kE ~ 2.5 kE and the shield for ~75k CR.

I can't figure out how to close the thread so I'd appreciate it if an admin could.

but don't

Yes, you can move the thread to the Graveyard yourself, but please don't. Just let the thread sink naturally down through the forum. By doing so, you give players a chance to see what the community is talking about, even if they don't check the forums every day.

If I were you.

I would farm for orbs, and just stockpile energy until ready. That way, you can have a ton of other items at 4* + level 10, ready to be upgraded.

Nah don't feel obligated to swap up your loadout unless you're really up for it! I'm assuming you're saying you want to solo/duo the Dreams and Nightmares mission - this isn't too hard of a mission with enough practice. The first two levels simply avoid fighting all you can (a gun will speed up puzzles), and and bombs are typically better for the final arena. You'll have arsenal stations each depth so you can switch up to bombs if you want in the final arena.

Personally I find it better to have a source of fire damage, shadow damage, and elemental damage. Elemental will be effective vs 3 of the enemy types in that mission, and shadow will only be ineffective against one monster type.

My personal preference for the mission is thus an acheron + magma driver. Acheron was buffed to the point where it does damage identical to the gran faust, so uh, if you need an overpowered weapon there you have it.
