dead game
where were you when spiral knights was kill???
I don't understand why people feel its necessary to shout "dead game is dead" when they "think" the game is dead, even if the game is dead, why the heck would you have to exclaim it? You're just making the game more dead than it really is.
What is SK is not kill? :3
P.S. I was still grinding vana / collecting stuff / doing challenge runs :3
Probably paying the weekly 12kcr for my guild hall to stay alive. Game's not "dead" till nobody plays it anymore, and I have no intention of quitting anytime soon.
i was in bed and eurydice call me on phone:
"spiral knights is kill"
"no"
The point isn't that people are quitting-its that the devs AREN"T DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. MMO's are meant to have high replay value - which this game clearly does not, and if you look at steam charts for this game, you will notice an overall trend of decreasing amounts of players. Despite all this, OOO insists on creating boxes to get money from the people still playing rather than attracting new players or reattracting old veterans. Now, they can do what they want with this game, but the players certainly have a right to point out whats happening as a result of their actions.

Well I mean, Spiral Knights does have that in its arcade.
The players-can-choose-what-gates-show-up part was the more interesting part, but was removed. Arcade still is a good place to go, but people are more concerned about profit over new things more often than not, so they'll always fall back on whatever gives them the most money in the least amount of time, ie, FSC.
Spiral Knights itself is amazing to new players. It just has severe pacing issues and not enough advertising. Fix both of those and new players will have a much better time in the game.
I was playing Spiral Knights with friends when someone declared the game was dead. So we all decided to continue on our run and kept having fun playing this now dead game.
Necrophilia is strong in this one.
@OP
Do you even English?
The game is on its deathbed, no doubt about it. Don't let these guys fool you -- they're clinging on to what little life there is left in what could've been an amazing game. I'm not surprised that the game took this path, though, it's a common fate for MMOs.
I think it's time we let go, folks. The only thing that can save this game is private servers + user generated content. Which would mean making the game open source. Which is highly unlikely because Sega wants to milk every last cent they can out of this game.
Fangel, the arcade lost a lot of its replay value. The nerfing of farming rates, and the severe loss of players makes it not fun™ to play arcade already. You might have a close clique of a few people to play arcade with, but I can guarantee the general populace has not in the past year or two.
The game will continue to hemorrhage money until the employees move their focus back onto producing content people want to play, and make it worth their time playing. Instead, it's been stuck in promo box purgatory hell riding off the remaining gambling addicts before they quit. There is no reason for the general populace to spend a dime if it's basically the same gameplay with a dwindling userbase due to lack of updates.
the arcade lost a lot of its replay value
Just because you lost interest in the infinite replayability feature built into the game since its creation doesn't mean that this game doesn't have an infinite replayability feature in it. There's only so much any replay-value feature can do for any game - at some point you'll master the gameplay, become bored, and move on. Whether or not you come back to the game in the future is a different story entirely.
Also, I see open arcade parties open pretty often. It's just that most people are playing on normal who are exploring the early tiers, or elite and are in tier 3. I will often join the normal tier 1 parties when I don't know what to do simply because it's a lot of fun to act as a sort of guide for these players.
When you need the game to tell you how to have fun, it's gonna have a very small amount of playtime compared to if you decide to have fun at your own pace.
Where was I when I began to realize Spiral Knights was stagnating?
Playing Warframe. Raging about the rampant RNG in there. (Now give me a Soma Prime Receiver already.)
Ehh, more like jumping on a dead horse. It he waited another two weeks than yeah I'd agree.
To me the game went on life support when Nick left, but the signs were there before it was actually announced.
This game is not dead yet, but only a fool would ignore the signs of it's impending demise, it's just a matter of time.
Wont be today, or tomorrow, maybe not even this year, but SK has been slowly losing players for a long time now and most of the "content" updates have been prize box after prize box. Sorry OOO, but I have no interest in funding you if I feel that I'm not being taken care of as your customer in return. I gladly give money to those I feel have EARNED it, and SK used to earn it years ago, not so much anymore...
Right now the only thing I'm hoping happens at this point is when the game finally does end support, that they will release the server and client files so we can all make our own servers to be able to continue to play together with the last version of the game. I myself would probably make my own local server for solo play and tweak drop rates for a few items to make progression in the late game less time consuming.
I was playing Spiral Knights with friends when someone declared the game was dead. So we all decided to continue on our run and kept having fun playing this now dead game. Someone on the forums said it, so we thought it must have been true.
