Hi, I'm Shuichi. I'm just your average bored knight, who decided to cook up a plan to spice up the realm of Spiral Knights. Along with a few other players in game, I decided to make the first Unofficial Spiral Knights webcomic. I'm suuuuper hyped about it! The plan is to upload every Friday a three panel comic, (I decided on 3 panels as little tribute to Three Rings Inc.) Don't get me wrong though, there will be times that there'll be more panels too! So just stay tuned!

I'm sure a few of you have already seen us running around. All cluttered in a group whispering here and there, and the reason for that is HERE!!!!!

Another little tid-bit. Because this is a comic, and this does revolve around the Spiral Knights Community, so I am open to ideas and willing to insert CAMEOS into the story! Yes..., your knight can appear in the story. There are 2 different types of payment:

The 10,000 crowns payment. What this means is, your own personal knight will appear somewhere in the backgrounds in a random story. It can be in such poses as feeding a battle sprite, checking the auction house, sleeping, etc. You are allowed to pay more than 10k and appear in multiple stories in the background. The choice is yours.

The 50,000 crowns payment. This payment is a bit more and its price is subject to change. Eventually the price will increase if more people are interested! (so please keep that in mind). Now... about this payment offer, what you get out of it is a full story arc which will last about 3-5 pages, depending on the story that is created. Together we can brain storm on what the story arc will be about. The story can range from anything from an adventure in the clockworks, or something taking place in Haven. You get to select which knights out of the 24 and together you'll be drawn in an adventure with them. Do keep in mind, the story will revolve around the Pocket Knights and their mischievous nature, not you. You're just there to help and add to the story! ^^

I'm glad that you plan to do something creative with your interest in Spiral Knights. :)

But this far from the first unofficial web comic. You can find lots of them by searching Google (not the built-in search) for something like "web comic site:forums.spiralknights.com" (without the quotation marks). For example, here is a compendium from 2010, before SK even launched.

Not that I really care much, but Crazee-Pi-Forum is right that this should be in Treasure Vault. If players don't visit there, it's because they're not interested in stuff like this.

But best of luck here! Interesting that you chose 3 panels, as Ian's web comic follows a similar pattern. The artstyle looks cute - should be fun to check in on in a few months and see all the progress!

Hmmmmm

But.. if you fail, you can learn from your mistakes :o right? I mean, that's how I see it anyway... besides practice makes perfect! Use up a whole forest to get better! XD Watch video tutorials or you can even go and copy and trace to get a feel for somethings such as facial structure or eye shape and things like that, and from there develop your own sense of style! Oh..and most of all don't give up! That's pretty much all I can say :3

OMG, THIS GUN BE GUD!

Im looking forward to this and all its lovely, adorable glory.
Now im wondering, are you going to add certain peoples characters if they ask, like merely a wave during downtime scenes like generic conversation and "Oh hey (insert characters name and maybe some detail)!" Its not a fanfic for people to add characters just a little thing so people feel special.

But either way, I can already say that im gonna like it!, and i have a feeling if it keeps going, we'll get to see development of not only the story but the writer and artist, which to me is the best thing about web-comics!

Hey, Pocket Knights is a guild? What are the requirements to join? Is the guild based around the people, in/involved in the comic, or is it the other way round that the guild inspired the name of the comic? just wondering, because I'm (technically, but that's another story) guildless atm.

Also you may have just made a thing because I showed this to a bunch a friends and now they want to collaborate on a comic of their own and I have been dragged in as lead writer. /facepalm

To answer your question, Yes! I am adding other players into the story. I call them "Cameo's". A player can pay 10k crowns to be part of the background, or a splash page (similar to the cover), or they can pay 50k crowns to be in an actual part of the story where the pocket knights are together with them on an adventure that will last a few pages. I already have some people who have reserved spots, and some stories have already planned out!!! So I'm super excited!!! ^^

Yes there is a Pocket Knights guild! ;D I've been sneaking around and secretly advertising the guild name! XD (/me is a sneak!! MWAHAHA) The requirements are to make a new fresh knight (naming the knight is a secret, though, I'm currently looking for 6 more cast members (aka guildies to fill the roles of certain knights)!! DO NOTE THAT THERE IS A SECRET WHEN NAMING ....so.... you probably should contact me in game via mail @Shuichi or @Little-Red-Knight for more info before you actually make that new knight (I mean you can contact me via tell but I'm off screen most of the time so, I might not see your message). XD Also, if you were to show up with a named knight I'd probably refuse you, (there have already been a few who have done this... and that's a big no-no xD ) But... to answer your other questions, All members in the guild of Pocket Knights are characters in the story. The characters are literally based off the members.

Also in the near future, I'll be placing a list on different scenarios that can be possible cameo appearances! :D So...hopefully people can sign up for that! ^^

Reasons for this is because vanguards have the knowledge of making a recruit knight into a vanguard knight as fast as possible. Some may even have the spare resources to do so too. I would also like to mention, I'm looking for super active and dedicated knights! I need the individual to actually level up this knight and make it a proud figure of the comic (There will be more details if you wish to sign up) (I say this because there will be times we'll need to do some "promotional advertising" at some points and have a bunch of cast members on at one time! Such as a few days ago with the first release of the comic! xD )

I'd like to be part of this Comic, even if it is a very minor role(also, will you be making us pose the way you want or are we allowed to ask what our Knights are doing?).

EDIT: I forgot to ask, but can we also add other Knights as long as we pay the fee(by other Knights, I mean Alternate Accounts that we have)?

Thanks for being interested in a cameo! You can either hold onto your crowns till I find you in haven somewhere or you can mail the crowns and I'll record the amount in my notebook, which ever one is fine. As for the images of the knight, I would like to take the screenshots myself, so I don't need to surf the net and click on links to find the references xD (it'd be all on my computer, ready to go)

Now... as for cameo's this here I made up randomly on the spot that'll kind of explain how the different prices work.

First the 10k Cameo This here is pretty simple. You pay, you make an appearance somewhere in the background. (I will give you an honorable mention in the messages and point out that your knight has made the cameo). You don't have a special role, and yes, we can talk about what sort of pose you wish to have in the background. It can also be a splash page, something like a cover page or insert page.

Now the 50k Cameo This one here is a bit more complex, and for sure, its price will be increasing in the future if I get more who are interested in the project! So take advantage of this cheap cheap price XD! Anyway... about the 50k price, for this either 1-3 pocket knights are now on an adventure with your own knight. The story will revolve around their little mischievous personalities and will last about 3-5 pages, (or more depending on what the story will be about.) These entries will be be a bit more detailed and you'll now be a talking interactive character.

And now, to answer your last question, yes, if you want to pay for other knights that's fine by me. The more the merrier I say! It can even be the same for the 50k (though even then for that one, its 50k per character (so if you want 2 characters together in the same story that's fine, and the same for 3 characters and so on, but do make note a Pocket Knight MUST be in the story. And it'll be revolving around the Pocket Knight, NOT YOU, so if that's what you're looking for, I apologize in advanced.) Oh... also if you want to make an advanced payment like first a 10k payment for kind of like a glimpse of you in the background for a beginning adventure, and then a 50k for a full story, that's completely doable too!

I am internally screaming in an immeasurable amount of joy in what I am seeing right now. A comic fully colored in a comedic value modeled after a game with endless amounts of potential? This has to be too good to be true! It almost makes me want to go play Spiral Knights again and hopefully get something done before the existential dread and reality sets in about how nothing's new except strange, new fashion schemes!

1) Are you a Vanguard? [I ask this because vanguards have the know how on how to make a new knight into 5* as fast as possible, they may even have spare items laying around that can help them in the process.] I am indeed a Vanguard.

2) What makes you interested in joining the Pocket Knights crew, other than the comic itself? I would like to be part of the Pocket Knights crew because I would like several things: One, to be a part of their very characterized community (as I have seen from the couple knights I have met). Secondly, I would like leveling up a new knight (who doesn't want a fresh face in a (pardon my incorrect language)"die"ing (not really but you know what the 20 million threads say...) game? Thirdly, I would like to, as Shuichi said, walk around with the guild as a casted role. Finally, (in addition to part two) I don't want that fresh knight to be alone!

3) How active are you? And how active will you be if you're part of this project? [The reason why I ask this is because, you'll be raising a new Knight from the bottom up. So it requires a lot of work, time, and effort. We will also be having group meetings from time to time to determine the future of the comic. Just having someone show up for a few minutes or giving up up half way and not showing up at all, is not "ok" in my book, I want someone who literally will dedicate them self into this project.] As of now, I have been on spiral knights for the past three days, after coming back from a long hiatus. I took the hiatus to freshen up my knightly blood. So, I'll be full of gas to get that new knight up to 5 stars. I have played the last three consecutive days, and plan to continue playing as consecutively as I can. (AT LEAST (so its a minimum) 4 days per week unless I previously notify due to real life stuff) I suppose 7 hours per week is also a minimum.

4) What will your Knight be using gear wise? What will their weapons be? Do they wear certain costume/accessory pieces? Armor? Shield? Pet? [What are your plans for the knight pretty much!] I plan to make this new knight a gunslinger. I would get an umbra driver, polaris, and a blitz. For armor I would get a Shadowsun set. My sheild would be a swiftstrike buckler. As a pet I would get a maskeraithe to hide from baddies in case I need a finger break.... I am not sure what accessories I would have.

5) Last but not least, Write a short character bio of your knight. (Do keep in mind your knight has not been given a name so don't think too much about that). [This will give me an insight on how well you've thought about creating the new member. Since each knight that is involved will be in the comic.] My knight would have crash landed on cradle. He grew an immediate distate to his standard issued protosword and bomb, and was drawn to the proto gun. He kept practicing with guns, and eventually became a gun-toting vanguard. Now, he's far from the perfect enemy killing machine, but he's no longer that recruit he was a long time ago.

1) What is your MAIN Knight's in game name? And, are you a Vanguard?
My main knight's name is Owen-Martial... while right now I am inactive and 2 star I have been high level on former accounts and I have played this game for almost four years so I know how to progress in the game very quickly.

2) What makes you interested in joining the Pocket Knights crew, other than the comic itself?
I love spiral knights and I feel that it has been fading in terms of playercount and updates. I would love to join something that could make spiral knights a game I love again. I also like to play the game through again.

3) How active are you? And how active will you be if you're part of this project?
I currently play about once a week but if I was accepted into this project I could play at least two hours per day (accept when studying for a big test irl)

4) What will your Knight be using gear wise? What will their weapons be? Do they wear certain costume/accessory pieces? Armor? Shield? Pet?
Fast. I.E final flourish, Argent, Deadshot set, and swiftstrike.
5) Last but not least, Write a short character bio of your knight. (Do keep in mind your knight has not been given a name so don't think too much about that). Very short and scrawny but insanely dexterous and quick. Cocky but will back down if somebody better challenges me.
