i have a huge doubt. why do people hunt for these black kat pages

first of all
chaos set with swift strike buckler gets you all the advantages you want. (with trinks of your choice )
so why do people want these kat hats or armors or mainly the BLACK KAT COWL
so what if BKC gives you DB high. the combined chaos set gives that and movement speed is taken care
by the swift strike buckler.
so am i missing something? why the relentless farming for seemingly useless things?
which has a proper substitute

Black Kat Armor is useful

The Swiftstrike Buckler increases attack speed, not movement speed. The only other armor aside from the Kat armor that increases movement speed is the Mercurial Helm, which isn't all that great. The Chaos set increases all damage by a Medium bonus, unlike Kat sets, which increases all damage by a High bonus.

Fiquel is right. You might want to read the wiki pages for these items, as well as the wiki page "Abilities". That page explains how Black Kat is the one set that lets you max out all of your abilities (except ASI on bombs). This is why it's so valuable.

Black kat is a more damaging version of chaos, and can allow you to become even better than you otherwise would be whereas with chaos you'll plateau. CTR is a stat that can be gained with unique variants or trinkets. Damage and movement speed aren't.

It's not really necessary to grind up black kat, but it's highly desirable to do so and even recommended; it's just flat out better than other armor sets.

Yup

As others have said, Black Kat gear is pretty much the end-game gear. Only 3 sets in the game grant you MSI, and the are mercurial demo, mercurial, and black kat. Now one of those is piercing + shock resist, other is elemental + shock + bomb damage low, and the final one is shadow + freeze + damage high.

Now, with chaos, you get max CTR with level 10 weapons, damage VH, and vulnerabilities to a bunch of things. With black kat? You get max damage for all weapons, no CTR, however you get movement speed increase andresistance to freeze.
If all you do is charge-spam brandishes, chaos will be better overall. However, if you rely on positioning and more advanced combat techniques, then the MSI from black kat plus additional damage will prove very useful.

Black kat is the best set if you have gear with a bunch of UVs on them. Chaos is arguably better on newer players attempting to get into the whole glass cannon area since it lets your most powerful attacks go off more frequently. My own personal playstyle just meshes better with black kat because I don't need to charge weapons all that frequently.

It's a display of wealth and prestige.
Notice a lot of people wearing the raiment also spend up on UV's for it.

Chaos is the poor man's game breaker set.
Black Kat is for the rich.
Grinding for books is for the poor who hope to get rich quick.

The other 3 raiments are for those who are so rich they can afford to throw away a Black Kat raiment and show everyone that they did it.
