I think that it is necessary to make the recipes for the Shockburst Brandish line and any other coliseum reward available in Basil because there is barely anyone playing in the Coliseum so
it is impossible to get Krogmo coins to buy the recipes and the rewards. Thank you for your replies and hopefully OOO solves this issue.
The thing is that it is really hard to find people who will play and the most annoying thing is that you can't get your item because you need the tokens. It's simply not fair for most players.
Most of the time there are 0 players playing and waiting for the coliseum.
If you are on the EU server, the coliseum is pretty inactive. If you set your server to be the US server, the coliseum often has 10-20 people in lockdown during boon hours of the day, and potentially more on the weekends. GvG lockdown has been making a rather nice comeback since December as well.
The US server for coliseum is active, I can't vouch for the EU server's activity. Still, finding 4 people (or just in general gathering 3 friends) to play blast network for a while won't be too bad, especially if your skill levels are on equal footing, or if someone is marginally better if they attempt to play worse. (Nothing dries up blast network faster than one good player in FFA that dominates all other players every round. Simply isn't fun)
The problem is that no-one plays Blast Network and Lockdown anymore for some reason. I was shouting and zone-messaging people to play so that it could benefit me but to no avail. Also I am in the EU. Trying to get the recipes is VERY frustrating. I am constantly waiting for people to play. Even though this may sound silly, there is literally no-one to play with because no-one plays Blast Network. I would appreciate it if there is another way to get the coliseum recipes because the pain of getting someone to actually make you a Voltedge is indescribable. It is now impossible to get the recipes and the lack of availability could make certain people quit the game.
Sadly this is not a problem of the game's design, but rather the side-effect of a PvP rewards system in a mainly PvE game with an already smaller playerbase in an MMO.
The rewards system is fine, it's just there's hardly any players in EU playing the coliseum. Sadly all I can recommend at that point is to stock up on krogmo boosters and lag around in the US PvP games. It's hardly optimal, but it gets the job done. Only other way to jump into it all would be if you got a few friends together and queued up. Once you get games running it isn't uncommon for someone to lazily open coliseum and realize there's games playing, and try to join in too.
I still stand by my "PvP only" way of acquiring the rewards. The best way to fix this would be to create a new PvP game, as many players will want to come and try that out, and if it's fun, stick around for it.
The system isn't broken there's just not enough players attempting to revive the EU coliseum, or perhaps just not enough EU players active in general.
You may be right - The game isn't broken but it's simply not fair. I still find it unfair that you can barely scrape a game just to get, what? 1 Krogmo Coin? There should be an alternative way to get these recipes like a mission that you complete and get access to another alchemy machine where there are the PvP rewards perhaps? This may defeat the purpose of PvP but it will definitely help many people and, potentially, bring back players. The main purpose of PvP is to have fun - waiting for people to play when 0 players are in the ques is unreal.
I waited approximately five hours in queue on an alt in US. I got 3 Krogmo coins. Three down, two hundred and ninety seven to go.

YES - Someone who understands my pain! You get what I'm going through. YES! Although my queue is normally 0 waiting for all the games so mine is horrible :(
The point of the coliseum rewards are to encourage players to partake in PvP games.
It typically isn't too hard to get people playing Blast Network since that only requires 4 knights. If you're on the EU server you'll likely fin a fair amount of issues regarding PvP games though... But it's still possible to get Blast Network players!
Honestly, if Three Rings were to make another coliseum game that was a lot slower paced than current PvP games and had preset gear (makes ping a lot less problematic, and prevent rich being OP), we'd likely see more PvP games open all over the place.
