I realize OOO will never go back to the old catalyzers but im just gonna post this here anyway to see others opinions.

The old catalyzers werent used much in pve, there are better ways to kill monsters. The change made it better (havent tried it, but id think so) in pve but there are still much better options.

My problem is LD. Biohazard used to be a fun slow gun that ppl had a hard time dodging properly cos of the extremely low speed. I have seen the new version used with hail driver, but it doesnt seem very effective.

Everyone ive talked with about this agrees that the old version was better. Cant be very hard to change a weapon back to something it has been.

it can still be used in lockdown

ive found that its mechanics do work in lockdown, the only real issue (other than people not bothering to find new strategies) is that detonating tags deals no damage, which is probably an invinciframe bug

Agreed. The catas need to be good in time for the new celestial orbitgun

See the thing is that the game lacks a gun with slow bullets that deal dmg. I know there is pola, but pola is just so broken that I dont wanna use it. The old catlyzer had those slow bullets that dealt dmg without having to use the explosion charge thing. Now its more of a gimmick than an actually viable weapon

it is viable

if it wasnt bugged, it would work fine, ive been able to stack on people fine (on a non laggy day)
just because they require a different strategy doesn't mean that catalyzers are bad now
and if you want a slow weapon, youve answered your own question, fix the pulsars

Yeah...

The problem is more that, with catalyzers, in a fast paced PvP environment you can't charge and fire off that charge without being mauled by flourish strikers. Its actual damage is very good, but it's essentially a bomb. The catalyzer tags don't even deal damage to the knight when the initial bullet misses the knight, but sets off the tags.

However I wouldn't say "revert the catalyzer". Rather, I'd say make tags explode on expiration. In this way, you could tag an enemy and then have it deal damage to them throughout your fight with them. If they kill you, they can still die to the catalyzer expiration explosion, and potentially damage other knights if they get too close.
Granted you'd have to make tags actual deal damage on explosion, but if that is a bug with the "activate charge" then this shouldn't be an issue.
