* Multiple Chat Windows *
This is totally necessary. If they game automatically filtered out all the battle spam into some not always visible window, or some log you could check, this single chat window would be ok. But as it stands, there is still too much spam text that clutters up the window when I want to see tells or group chat. It seems there is a loath to complicate things in the UI and I understand that giving user control over positioning additional chat windows might be too much. The problem can be solved by a chat window dedicated to "item acquired," "status effect," and other messages that is optionally viewable, perhaps in a sidebar or opposite the chat window, aligned to the right side. Personally I would love to have the ability to choose what goes into the "Spam" window and what stays in the "Chat."
* More Visible Target Indicator *
As it stands, it is difficult to see the target indicator in many situations. A better way to highlight the target would be an arrow or marker above the head of an enemy, which is useful in crowds. Also, the whole targeting scheme seems to be tacked on, as it doesn't seem to be especially useful to target; targets are automatically acquired at too close a range, and many attacks affect a wide arc in front of the player. It seems like the whole targeting mechanic should be dropped entirely (since it doesn't add much) or enhanced to actually provide a benefit. I'm in favor of the latter. I think it would be useful if the player always faced his target once it is acquired.
Seconded.
