CE prices are downrocketing

As you can see, current CE prices are around 5.5K and I don't see anyone complaining or saying thanks to OOO to "fixing" (like if it needed some kind of fix) to the CE market. They just bring new players to the game, so you know the solution, bring new players and make them buy CE and you will keep a "sane" CE market, not a big deal really.
Now all the other "solutions" like new crown sinks, Devs injecting CE to the market and some kind of crazy content seems not as effective like bringing new players to the game.
Thank you Steam players, I am pleased to give my crowns for your tasty CE.
Damn, I bought 1200 CE yesterday :/ Over 10k cr wasted :/ But still, that's awesome news.

It's important to note that prices of CE have risen from release every time there was a batch of new players. It's different now because Steam players are used to paying some money for games as it is. I also see plenty of Heat Amplifiers on the AH, because many people are buying those Starter/Party Packs.
Yay for Steam!
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!
What.
CE prices are back to 5.5k?
Are you serious?
:O

EDIT - If it's filtered in the game, it should be filtered on the forums. - Hyperion
The game's population is skyrocke-- okay, this meme is old.
Still, it's amusing to see Havens 1-24 are English, 25-26 are French, and 27-29 are more English.
We have them surrounded, it's only a matter of time before they finally surrender...

Yesterday I noticed I was in heaven 29 and lots of other heavens were "full", so yes, new heavens were introduced for the new players.
I just assumed CE prices went down because people were getting an extra mist tank upon logging in ("in celebration of the new Steam launch!"), and so CE demand was lower. If that's the cause, then the drop in CE prices will be temporary. So... buy CE while you can, right?
@Poul: Oh. Nah, it just automatically generates new Havens according to the number of players online. Sometimes you'll see 9 English Havens; sometimes 11, 12 or 13. And now, after the influx of Steam players, almost 30. (At least, that's how many I saw last night. Maybe more or fewer now.)

Havens 25-26 are basically Quebec.
I'm facepalming over the fact that I bought 500 CE at around 6600 CR a go yesterday, but have been cautiously playng CE Market Speculator Tycoon today and made a little bit of that back. It's... strangely addictive.
Wrong, There are plenty of french people, and belgians too.
"Havens 25-26 are basically Quebec."
Appropriate. That also reminds me: a couple weeks ago, I saw a message in trade.
"Hey everyone, let's all go to Haven 25 and start speaking Frenglish!"
I was out of time, so I didn't get to witness/participate, but I imagine it was hysterical. I'm sure French speakers are cool people, I just strangely find it more amusing to make fun of them than most people. BONJOUR, BONJOUR! JE SUIS GLASS JOE! HAHA!

Mainly I meant in terms of francophones being surrounded by anglophones. In hindsight it was a pretty weak attempt at humour. :D

OMG is downrocketing! Three Ringz plz fix thizzzzzzzz
Downrocketing...doesn't really seem like a word to me. :\
CE price is currently at 5303, but the manipulators are trying to build walls: 41 at 5302, 22 at 5301, 153 at 5300.
its only in the early morning, so there will be more flooding in.
just hold back from buying CE now, you'll get them at 4K very soon.
overthrow the CE manipulators.
Crown sinks are still needed. Otherwise this will be just temporary again.
Also, what Sawa said. hold back from buying CE from the Market or Trade and the CE bloaters will go down.
They are SKYDIVING, not downrocketing!
Quick sell all your energy everyone, it'll be worth close to nothing soon OMG what if it goes below zero, we'll al be in debt, loosing cr every few hours!!!!!!!!!

@ufna
Y U NO FIX SK MEME'S GRAMMAR?
You just can't DEAL WITH IT.
Your CE comes from paying users like me not 3rings. My CE comes from 3rings because I pay for it. I set the price for your CE not 3rings. Yes they have a minimum limit but its the paying user that determines how much CE will cost with crowns. I doubt paying users will let the CE market crash because it's coming out of our pocket in the long run.
The only reason it is going down is because paying users don't want to wait for there crowns.
Now lets raise the prices!
only those who pay to play would agree to you, rabbit.
those who earn only crowns from dungeons would want it to be low as possible.
but yes, even if it hits 3k today, its only gonna be a temporary thing. at least i have the opportunity to craft things for the time being
Free time of OOO server maintainer is downrocketing! (or has downrocketed already if they were well organised for this :P)

Oh, that downrocketed long ago.

Eurydice, was the crazy incoming of new players expected once SK appeared on Steam?
No criticizing here, just noticing the population have tripled or maybe even more, its quite impressive.

> Eurydice, was the crazy incoming of new players expected once SK appeared on Steam?
Steam is a firehose; from what I understand, there are 10m Steam users, a generous portion of which log in regularly. You can never know exactly how many new players you'll get from any given venture, but this is a constant: If you get your game on Steam, it's smart to make sure you can handle heavy traffic. We prepared for it.
My personal sentiment regarding population increase is this: MOAR.
Moar indeed, Eury.
Also, clever how you at OOO focused on early game content just prior to this massive push for population. Starter pack, new T1 boss -- all of which to me seemed nice but not so useful to those who were already established players -- yes, well played! This gives the game a better chance of sticking with all the new Steam peeps.
Now with the falling CE prices and rising population, hopefully we can look forward to more deep-tier content and extended value as the new players make their way deeper. That will give me a reason to throw more money at the game.

@Thrull: More content is indeed on the menu for Spiral Knights, never fear.

This newcomer breakup in SK sounds like a dream opportunity to release the ultimate motion everybody's waiting for, in the name of: PvP!!!
Can't wait. Imagine newcomers testing their growing skills all over the place while they wait for their mist to refill and their gears to build up!
Must everything look like a goddamn conspiracy theory to you guys? Can't you just be happy you're getting content updates at all =.=

From an article last year, active Steam user base is more like 30 mil+.... soooooooo expect MOAR!
http://store.steampowered.com/news/4502/
Congratulations Spiral HQ!

Lots of different numbers of accounts get thrown around--30mil+ sounds like it's including inactive ones. However, I have zero inside info on Valve's innards and probably should quit speculating. Whatever the exact numbers, it's still a firehose!
Looks like the Crystal Energy prices...
...are on a downward Spiral.
YEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
i just brought 1 million crowns worth of energy

The thing about Steam accounts is "inactive" is a relative term. My cohort's (TheBadger) Steam account has been inactive for over a year till today. He wanted to check out Steam again just because of the Spiral Knights. Now he is buying other Steam products too because he didn't know Steam had grown dramatically in its product line. Hence, Steam's F2P promo is benefiting Steam as well by drawing back the inactives.
Just wait for those mist tanks to run out... New players will start buying CE and it goes over 10k

It'll go back up to 6k in a while, but i think it will stay there, so it's not too bad.
I would just like to say that I think it is significant that a large influx of new players has contributed towards lowering the CE price. I am not an economist, but it seems the answer all along was to invite your friends. LOTS of friends.
(Or sign up with a mega-network serving people with disposable income. Woot.) I love this game.

"Must everything look like a goddamn conspiracy theory to you guys? Can't you just be happy you're getting content updates at all =.="
No.
Doesn't really need a bump... Downrocketing should be an official spiral knights word... Gonna start a post right now to start that.

Somebody please point me in the direction where OOO lowered prices? Because I realllyyyyyyy doubt they did. Probably just the market of having steam players who like to spend cash on the game.

I can't hold on to all this derp.
I can't believe Three Rings took THIS LONG to release SK on Steam.
...I really did look for it on Steam when it was released.
In ANY CASE...
How soon can we get new content? Or even PVP SNIPE HERDING.
Do people REALLY think OOO had anything to do with the prices? I mean, come on.
This is the greatest thread in this board ever.

Please stay like this for awhile haha...I can't really play right now so my selfishness demands you guys keep prices low for whenever I can take advantage of this...
Knights are Rocketjumping
Wait what
(Yes, it is pleasant to see CE prices decline from the disturbing levels from last week.)
