Man, I can't go inactive for a week without missing an ENTIRE EVENT!

So, the only four games I play are Spiral Knights, Minecraft, Iron Snout, and Stardew Valley, all of which are amazing. However, my friend, who likes to do multiplayer with me, only likes Minecraft. This is fine, Minecraft is a great game, and I have plenty of time on my own to play the other ones. However, recently my computer decided that I no longer deserved to play Minecraft, so after months of patiently awaiting the 1.9 Combat Update, Minecraft broke. I have tried every fix on the internet I could find and nothing worked, so I am going to give up. However, my friend is not happy about this. Stardew Valley and Iron Snout are not multiplayer, and he refuses to play Spiral Knights. Does anyone know of a game that is fun, cheap, and multiplayer?
