Hello everyone!
I am aware that the Tortodrone event has placed the Apocrea event further back. My question to you all is that when is Apocrea likely to return. I remember last year it was at the end of Summer, (U.S. time) so is it likely that it will be that time this year too? Thanks,
Gus
Next Apocrea
bopp are you sure you read that news article? It's a nitpick but it annoys me to no end since it was publicly stated by sega what happened.
But it IS likely to happen again, right?
And, I noticed that it appears every 7 months. So based on the calendar, it should've happened this month, but instead we had Tortodrones. Will this change it as well?
Do you mean this thread, which was linked in post #19 of the biggest recent thread? It's not good news, but I don't see how it implies that Apocrea won't come again.

Or did you mean that the company that runs Spiral Knights should no longer be referred to as Three Rings? That's true, but it's been practically true (if not legally true) since 2011. I'll try to update my lingo, but don't be surprised if I sometimes slip up.
That Sega legally shut down Three Rings according to that article, and the company that merged in Three Rings assets prior to such was Sega Networks, the mobile app subsidiary of Sega. I believe some of the game masters were moved over to Sega Networks prior to such, so they still administer the game, just through that entity instead.
Since Sega acquired Three Rings in late 2011, I haven't cared what we call the company that runs Spiral Knights. All I care about is that they keep the servers running, put out new content (or not), etc. But, as I said in post #7, I will try to use the correct lingo, if it makes other players happy.
Petater you just got crushed by bopp oh my god world star roast bruh post 7 should have ended you.
Haha that's childish I don't care.
Crushed in what way? I'm just making sure there's no misinformation. Making sure bopp actually reads the news at the very least of three rings being unfounded by Sega legally earlier this month. Bopp can call it anything he wants. It's just that if employees are not going to set the record straight on terminology someone else probably is going to. Calling it Three Rings still is deliberate misinformation, which is why I responded in this thread.
@flowchart
Thought you were better than riding off of childish responses that didn't even fit the circumstances.
Looks like Petater's our new Larry.
Can we call him Bob? I want to call him Bob.
Then they can tell us all about technicalities through stories with vegetables as the cast.
The technicalities keep being applied because people keep spreading false information or keep re-asking what the state of the game is. You're welcome to help out rather than obfuscate the information with tangents.
The article is only a second hand report. Until the change is applied to Spiral Knights itself do we then officially recognise the parent company as so; the Three Rings name is still very much attached to this game.
That mislabeling is actually a bug report in the bug report subforum.

That news has been reiterated across multiple outlets and is a quote from Sega itself. For it to be false would potentially make the journalist responsible for slander.
For the record, nobody crushed anybody in posts 1-10. We were just having a friendly discussion. Cheers.
I think lasershield was making fun of his own statement by calling it childish, not you Petater.
I'm pretty sure we're all on the same side here. Let's keep it that way.
Bottom of the page here still says Three Rings.
The game still says Three Rings in it.
Three Rings and Sega Networks, LLC are both the same company.
I don't see where the "false information" is around here. Are you saying we need to call OOO "Sega Networks"? Because that's how the I (and I assume the rest of us reading) see it, and it's hilariously petty and impossible to enforce. It's like telling people a tomato's a fruit - it's true, that's alright, but you don't need to correct them every time they talk about tomatoes. They just start disliking you while staying indifferent to the tomato.
But good luck on your crusade to make everyone shorten a three letter abbreviation to Sega Networks.
Namely because the news article says they said "goodbye" to three rings, one can presume they disestablished the legal backing of the company. No one's gonna stop you from saying OOO. Like I said earlier, I'm just making sure people aren't spreading misinformation. Which is why we need that Q/A thread.
I didn't even call them OOO anymore, it's pretty much $000 now. It would be no problem to call them SN.
Posts #1 and #2 literally start with Bopp referring to Three Rings - the developers of Spiral Knights, as the only reliable source as to when a reoccurring game event returns. Immediately afterwards, you correct Bopp by saying "Three Rings is Sega Networks".
I see zero "spreading misinformation" there, on either side. While you say "[n]o one's gonna stop you from saying OOO", the post that started this gear turning was literally you doing exactly that.
I'm just making sure Bopp was aware when using the name. He can freely use what ever name now since he knows.
I think we've beaten that to death now.
Anyhow, back on topic, how are people calling for apocrea during tortos... At least wait a month before asking first guys, it's silly.
I think there will be a promo tomorrow without actual event. After that probably birthday event next somewhere around April 1. And after that Apocrea like in the end of April, or first half of May.
Petater is right. Calling them "Three Rings" implies that employees from the original Three Rings group or employees they hired thereafter are still there developing the game when that isn't the case at all. This isn't a case of nomenclature at all, this is the start of an era without Nick, Ian, anyone.
Unless an employee of Three Rings shows up here to make an announcement, no one on these forums knows for sure. What we do know is when it has occurred in the past. And that past calendar is available to you on the wiki:
