Ok, so all of our SK problems basically can be traced back to the fact that not as many people play the game anymore. I have been trying to work on this and brainstorming ideas when today it hit me. The answer could be youtube, and not posting SK videos because Lord knows no one watches those. (except me, I'm a fangirl xD) The trick is to get big, powerful youtubers like Markiplier, JSE, Pewdiepie, and others to play the game and to post videos on it. I know that Markiemoo and JSE are constantly looking for new games to play so that's our primary target. What I have already begun to do, is post comments on their videos saying how funny and hilarious they are, (I'm not lying on that part, they both have made me laugh so hard I almost died) and then recommending Spiral Knights as being a game where you can play with your friends and have a good time. Even if they don't ACTUALLY have a good time, they will say that they will to be nice and then people will be like, "Huh, that game looks cool, mebe I need to try it" and VIOLA!! New recruits. What I'm asking us, as a mission to do, is to post comments like the example I have listed above. It will take like 2 minutes max to post 2 comments, and the more comments they have, the more they will be taken into the realm of "Hey, that game sounds cool." I know that many of you are going to be like "That's not gonnah work" and I'm suprised if you've even read this far and have not been like " NOPE, this plan's gonnah FAIL, PEACE!" But, I think all of you care about the future of Spiral Knights and want it to change. This might be our chance, we just need a lot of support. Because we need to face the facts, unless we do something, the game is going to stay in this loop forever. We, as people that play the game, need to do SOMETHING!!! So get out there, AND SAVE OUR WORLD!!! (That's my example of a motivational ending) P.S. JSE stand for Jacksepticeye.
A crazy idea that just might work
This was actually an idea that had occurred to me once before a long time ago. The only problem I saw with it was that perhaps the Youtubers themselves might not be interested in wanting to play a game such as Spiral Knights, especially since Spiral Knights is an MMORPG and they might probably dislike the idea of playing with masses of their fans. I could certainly, and hopefully, be wrong though and your idea could end up working very well.
The only thing we would need to do is actually get players on Spiral Knights to comment on their channels to play Spiral Knights. If we have a big enough impact, at least we could have them acknowledge the game in some way.
@Umbra
You have to be 13 or older to play on SK though right? So at least you wouldn't be playing with anyone younger than 13, lol.
The ToS state that, but you and i both know that has no way of holding. The fact remains that the especially awful fanbases on youtube like Markiplier and Pewdiepie would run SK into the ground just because they could, and then SK would eventually become just another looked-down-upon game due to its community.
That would kill the game even faster than its current decline.
Dang you're right. It would end up just like Minecraft and there would be annoying kids everywhere. Everyone would leave. Ah, oh well. Back to the drawing board.
Why me... WHY DOES THE WORLD HATE ME!?!?!?!? Does anyone have any other ideas?
I dont hate you, mate :)
Its fun to play with you ^^
Not everyone in the world hates you Gustim.
Just everyone except for me! .... hahaha
I`m starting to go crazy not being able to play Spiral Knights for about 2-3 weeks (-_-;)
AND I MISSED THE TORTODRONE EVENT!!!
"any other ideas"
1. Play the game in front of other people. When they ask "What`r U playing?" , just reply "Just one amazing game"
2. I don`t think that spiral knights needs to become a bigger game society, so I don`t have any other ideas
Right now i`m drawing a picture for my future guild, Nikuman Empire.
It`s gonna be one amazing picture
Please take a look at the guild page when I finish drawing the picture (^▽^)/
I'm pretty sure 000 would be just fine with the game getting a huge influx of players in the early teens.... especially seeing as that is who the game was originally designed for.....
Seriously you can't say this game is aimed at late teens to adults..... (not saying you can't enjoy it though)
Chibi characters, bright colors, no blood
I'm being very honest when I say I would rather shoot myself in the foot than see Spiral Knights be overrun with twelve-year-old Youtube fanbases. That would spell certain death for the community.
