Ah, the festive 5th anniversary of Spiral Knights is right around the corner!!! Officially, Spiral Knights is half a decade old!!! This is exciting because... Well... IT'S HALF A DECADE!!!!! To celebrate this momentous occasion, Spiral HQ is hosting the event CAKETASTROPHIE around April the 5th. If you have no idea what the event is, basically you kill cakes with swords and they give you cake slices with which you can then trade in for a cupcake with a candle in it to be smashed on your head and it looks adorable. >w< The two event names (they were this last year so I have no idea about this year) were total caketastrophie, and a gremlin in knead. HAHAHAHAHAHAH...... puns. ;-; Anyways, since Spiral has been here for a long time, the GM'a might do something different and this forum is to give ideas of what they could do, seeing that it is so close to that time of year again. Be creative, festive and don't forget to have a good time. :D

Guys, this thread was supposed to be a place where people could put down their thoughts and ideas in the hope that someone important would stumble upon this thread and think about it. I don't want this to be a doomsday thread ok, just a thread where you can put down ideas, even though probably no one is going to see them. Thanks... Let's put it this way, if people say "This game is going down!" Then the important people will be like "Ok, we need to abandon ship too." But if we're like "This game needs improvement but we will support OOO and Sega." then the important people will we like, "We can do this!" So Be Positive!!!!!

The event hasn't had anything new in years, its pretty much complete
Anyone who cares already knows about the event, or will see it from an actual OOO employee when it comes, and in much better detail, not some random forumer who thinks they're special for doing it early
You want us to suggest things, very few suggestions actually make it into the game, and you're in the wrong subforum for that
And your opinion on the games condition has no bearings, no matter how pretentiously positive people are, a game losing players will keep losing players if there is no new content to draw more, sure negativity accelerates the process by a bit, but your "say its fine and it will be fine" idea is just ridiculous, OOO/Sega had plenty of time while the playerbase was on their side, and they wasted it
Lastly: caketastrophe, at least keep typos out of the title

It would be nice if we could actually eat those cakes. I mean we never do. We always trade those in for some other stuff. Sure, i get a nibble or two out of my prismatic frosted helm when nobody's looking, but it's just not the same. I wish we could purchase a whole cake, and perhaps it would work similar to that new usable pie item, i forgot its name. So you put it down and you take a slice and throw it at someone's face. That would be cool.
Most I imagine they would do differently is add in a few new recolors (ex. frosty party hat or something) of accessories types that we already have and/or switch up between previously used missions or something. Nothing too big, and the event doesn't need much of changes to what we already have.

I know right?? Look guys, this game isn't going to get new content if you all keep whining. And your constant complaining is really getting my hackles up. Show some respect for the game's troubles! Make suggestions! Support the cause! This is an awesome game, and yes, it can get repetitive, but if you don't like it anymore then move on! Don't just hang around on the forums to complain and ruin it for everyone else who's having fun, savvy?
And Gus, do you know if there's gonna be any new costumes or event weapons? 'Cause things like mixmaster and the cleavers were awesome XD A cupcake bomb would be so cool! I might have to design one, just 'cause...

If I could choose, then I would like to have a cake-reskin for either a stun or the shock mist bomb as the other stati are already existant as reskins in the winter Event :3

I'd like it if they updated the cupcake hat's accessory slots and made more variants of it. I'd also enjoy being able to get that frying pan that the gremlin has, as well as possibly a farmable mixmaster. Anything new would be appreciated but as I've said in the past, the big updates we need are a far cry from the anniversary event and I'd much rather the developer work on making something happen for that after fixing the other various issues that naturally take precedent.

It's had something new and interesting just about every year as far as I've noticed.. maybe not exciting but they've always done something for the anniversary event. The developers were always quite superb at making new event content..
