Grant us 1 additional Trinket slot

I know that we have two Trinket slots, yet, they all are locked, and the only way to unlock them is to have and use Trinket Slot upgrades. I know they serve to give stat boosts. Just thought there's no default slot to place a trinket in.

Here's this little suggestion, add in one new default trinket slot, so we may be able to place one in. Should save Knights some struggle in trying to earn enough Crowns & buy enough Energy to buy more Trinket Slot Upgrades & give us a little boost.

Tell me what you think. Be positive.

Unfortunately for you I don't think that will happen. But fear not because there is an easy solution. Your battle sprites. Those perks that they gain apply to you like Healthy Boost I. Later you'll start getting stuff like Quick Slash and Biggest Booms, which replicate the PvP Trinkets.

That's your free trinket slot right there. Lame as it might be as first.

Yeah actually those Trinkets that I get from Missions are just free money. I got a 4* trinket called the Gift of Autumn from an event and I sold it for 10k. Yay.

Well. The power creep is somewhat an issue, as it makes the game that much easier to complete stuff in, and it certainly widens the gap between players, especially in lockdown- you'd have players with no trinkets that hadn't crafted them yet vs players with three, which comes out to +18 health vs the +12 they already have. We already did kind of get this in the form of battle sprites, which give a trinket but actually better than a trinket because you can get MSI, monster perks and higher boosts in general with the exception of perhaps the grand solstice ring that roughly three players have.

A better idea that functions similarly would be to give new players a free trinket slot upgrade via missions every tier or so, since the game does give them free trinkets and believe me, they could make good use of them. Another idea would be to have permanent trinket slots be made, with the first one costing much less than the second. You'd have say, 5,000 energy for the first and 30K energy for the second. That way the first is worth it for most knights and the second is worth it to those dedicated enough to buy them. This would let knights transition at some point out of the temporary/no trinket position.

Oh geez

A third trinket slot would spell disaster for game balance. The only trinkets worthwhile to have right now are health trinkets. With a third trinket slot the lowest health PvP class would have more health than the highest health PvP class in a trinket vs no trinket scenario.

In PvE this means players can have a whopping +24 health before vitapods. As it stands the +18 health is available, but it's overkill.

But as Blazecat said, your battle sprite is your "free, third trinket slot". It is amazing and covers things that even standard trinkets don't cover (such as MSI and family damage bonuses).

If you wanted to buff knights even further, which we really don't need at all, I would say a passive "knight boost" could be added.

These boosts would come in 3 variations: "purity", "standard", and "berserker".

Purity boosts would provide a +2 boost at 100% health, and a +1 boost at 75%-99% health.
Standard boosts would provide a +1 boost at all times. Purely passive.
Berserker boosts would provide a +2 boost while at less than 20% health, and a +1 boost while at 35%-21% health.

You can only ever have one boost active at a time, but it can be changed at an arsenal station or subtown.

Boosts include:
Purity: ASI, CTR, damage resistances
Standard: ASI, CTR, DMG, damage resistances, status resistances
Berserker: CTR, DMG, status resistances

This allows players with a certain playstyle to work better or worse in their specific situation. Glass cannon players may find the berserker boost helpful due to statuses being resisted higher in critical situations - that +2 to shock may be the difference between life and death when you're already at under 20% health. If you just want a boost always you can go for standard, but purity may prevent you from getting hit in the first place, or make the first few hits hurt less.
This wouldn't affect PvP as negatively and wouldn't be as knight heavy in the clockworks either.

A bit skeptical, eh?

There are other trinkets that give out other boosts, like damage protection, so I thought having another trinket slot would give us Knights a little protection boost either way.

The one reason I think about having a new trinket slot without the major requirement of a trinket slot upgrade would be that there should be at least to give some Knights a choice to use a trinket or not.

However, I get that some are skeptical about this suggestion, 'cause it may have some impacts. I say, give it some thought & consideration.

Eh

Well ask yourself, what trinkets to people use? They use health trinkets (infinitely better than defense trinkets - why lose a tiny bit more health per one type of damage when you can have even more health to all sources of damage?), or combat bonuses to buff our weapons a tiny bit more.

Your battle sprite acts as a free trinket slot and is only in PvE, making it pretty balanced and an augment to your player. If you allow us another trinket slot as they currently stand, well... People aren't just gonna grab a different trinket. They'll keep using more of what they currently use.

If you want knights using trinket slots more often just make different tiers of trinket slots with a discount on them for longer times, and a fee on them for shorter times. A 7-day trinket slot purchasable for ~40 energy would be alluring to many players despite costing more in the long run.

<insert title>

One way to balance this is maybe if you could only use 1 of each type of trinket?
That means the best HP plus you could get with 3 slots (excluding battle sprites) is...
wait...
that's 17...
Nevermind, my idea's terrible.

Maybe if, say, you can only have one of each kind of trinket? Like once you equip an HP plus trinket, you can't equip another one, so people would start going for other trinkets (e.g. the gun focus modules, boom modules etc.).
Possibly?

Meh.

The trinket slot upgrades could upgrade the tier of trinkets you can equip. Follow that up with the removal of low tier heart trinkets and you'd at least have one niche for Crystal Pins: stingy folk running Arcade.
