Hi there, I'm new to the forum!
I have a question regarding the effect of the Drakon's Frenzied Firestorm skill (and Backfire Barrier for that matter).
I read somewhere in the steamforums that the speed boost wouldn't stack if you already had medium MSI (armor-wise i assume) but the thread was fairly old so i don't know if that has been patched or if it is intentional.
Also have the raw power versions of all the ultimate skills really significantly higher dmg-outputs or is the trade-off effect well balanced?

But I'm still confused, does the skill not give any speed boost at all? because the in-game description says otherwise. or do you mean it does not stack on medium MSI?

I don't have a drakon, but based on the wiki and what Veridiandynamics has already said, it seems that
* Frenzied Firestorm gives Attack Speed Increase and damage bonus.
* Backfire Barrier gives Movement Speed Increase.
If the distinction between ASI and MSI is confusing to you, then read Abilities. But be aware that, while those abilities usually max out at +6, sprite skills such as Frenzied Firestorm and Backfire Barrier let you go over +6. That's what post #1 was getting at.

Well "speed boost" can mean attack or movement :)
So the answer is:
It doesnt give you any movement speed boost.
It gives you attack speed boost. Strangely enough the icon will show a movement speed bonus, but its an attack speed bonus (similar how deadly shadow cloak works and displays).

Battle sprite skills will always stack with armour bonuses. They are a different kind of boost entirely, so the hard limit for one does not affect the other, letting them stack.

Thank you so much for the responses! I somehow misread the post and was not aware it was an ASI not MSI for the frenzied firestorm. The thread could be closed now :)
Backfire Barrier movement speed increase stacks. Even if you have very high MSI + you picked up a speed orb drop.
Frenzied Firestorm doesnt increase movement speed. It increases attack speed. I think it is far more useful than Explosive Firestorm, because the boost applies to every party member.
