Okay, so the other day I was on SK and was looking at the games running in the Coliseum. I've only ever played a couple of Lockdown matches before, but never Blast Network, so I really wanted to try it out and see what it was like. But I look for a game in BN, and there's no one else playing it??

And henceforth I met a former BN player in Haven, who was also willing to play a match. We discussed BN and how unpopular it seemed to be, and it took us ages to finally get enough people to start a match (and it's Bomberman?? How did I not know this?!)

So what's up with that? Why do so many people only play Lockdown and so few play Blast Network nowadays? I mean, I have a couple ideas...

1) People play Lockdown because they have their own specialized gear, giving them an advantage and an opportunity to show off.

2) The mechanics of BN may not be entirely desirable for everybody.

3) Most probably find it boring. Then again, it is sorta a strategic game which requires concentration and quick thinking. Too much for LD players?

Question: does anyone know if the rewarding systems are different between LD and BN?

Your thoughts might be interesting...

I would play

Back a long time ago I would love playing it, however I stopped once my computer got so bad and all the explosions just lag me. I'm totally up for playing some now (better laptop). Rewards aren't different. A game will give you 1 krogmo coin for losing, 2 for winning, and the usual amounts of crowns if you win and no crowns if you lose.

Lag is a drag.

Fair enough about the lag. Thankfully I have a beefy desktop for gaming. But hey, we should have a game sometime!

Thanks for your reply.

Hail, King Tinkinzar!

bn isnt dead its mainly on eu tho so look there now and then and dont be afraid to start a queu all by yourself i know if bn'ers see someone queuing they will hop in, and the rewarding system is quite the same just on a smaller scale since its mostly only 4-6 people

Yeah

Blast Network is more an ask to get people involved sort of thing. Main reason people don't play it more often is that the skill gap between players is huge, even more so than lockdown. In lockdown, having a bad connection will get you killed, but as long as you capture points or assist your team you're helping. In blast network, it's all about kills and not being killed, which means the higher your ping the more frustrated you get quickly.

Basically, if I'm up against similarly skilled blast network players, I have a lot of fun in that game. The sad part is that quite often when you're playing with your friends in blast network, some veteran will show up and destroy all of you, turning the game into "get killed by one person" rather than "be terrible at bomberman with your friends". This is the main reason I personally don't play blast network more despite liking the game.
