This is in regards of annoying dialogues(like the one on Dreams and Nightmares mission). Players who are repeating the mission need not waste time seeing something they've seen before.
Skip Dialogue
I have no idea how that is relevant to my suggestion.
That's fair; I appear to have focused on the wrong topic. Let me clarify:
I do not wish for the option to skip dialogue, as it detracts from the setting's atmosphere.
I do, however, want a mission providing direct access to the Core (i.e. a boss level) that does not require mandatory dialogue of the type exemplified in D&N, as it is what you're centering around.
An interactive instance of Parma's Scout at the start of such a mission, functionality akin to the white, floating skulls in Firestorm; would be perfect for exposition rather than an automatic delay.
Dialogue in dreams and nightmares only has one place where it should skip: the end
first depth: ends on an elevator, without dialogue you woukd be standing awkwardly and breaking continuity
second: end activates souls, if you skip it the people still in it will get attacked
end: opens to boxes, this can be skipped
A few other missions:
vana: starts the fight, you would be standing awkwardly or it would start and people in dialogue would get attacked
sprites: actually tells moons what's going on, opens gate
Razwog: standing awkwardly, is a one time thing so if you skip it you'll never see it again without an alt
It won't work to just skip things, it only works where there would be no downside to a single person activating it and other teammates sitting and reading
I'd actually prefer that another Core mission that doesn't require dialogue be released.
Also, I wish that the Core opening could actually be visible, so augmentations to that scene would be VERY welcome. Because right now that entire scene feels way too straightforward and robotic.
