So, I tend to use my fully heated divine set (hood and mantle) along with crest of almire for shock fiend levels. My internet connection and I aren't cool enough to run chaos or something so I tend to pack resistances instead of damage. xP The hood has a shock med UV while the mantle has a fire low UV, allowing me to both firewalk and shockwalk.

Since that amazing gate showed up with 3 arenas between D26-28, I've been running it at least once daily because arenas are just too fun. However, I've been a little irritated at times. Is it just me or do 70% of the attacks from the devil-ITs and their overtimer counterparts inflict shock? Anyone able to explain why it seems like I'm getting shocked constantly despite my high shock res or is it really not that high?

Please tell me I'm not crazy and you get shocked like mad from them too with good shock res. XD;

I believe it just reduces the amount of damage you take with each tic.

Nope, it increases resistance. If it didn't, the skolver meta people with MAX! UV's on all their things wouldn't be able to shockwalk.

Weird, it feels like I get status effects from everything I don't dodge.

full explanation

Status resistance has almost no effect on how often you get a status, but it shortens the duration of the affliction once it is applied, it also reduces damage where applicable

I believe its like 0.5

I believe its like 0.5 seconds shorter duration with every +1 resist. So in your case it should lower the duration with 5 seconds.

Hm, could've swore it also reduced the odds of you actually getting the status condition as well. Ah well, I still hate devilites like 90% of the community. |D

Immunity is a fickle thing...

I certainly know that high shock resistance can make you immune to shock whisps - if you're using Divine Cloak + Divine Veil + sprite's Grounding III you can just walk through them (is it what Sciger means by shockwalking?), as I do during Ghost in the Machine. It doesn't seem to make you immune to getting shocked by regular attacks, though, but it shortens them to about 3-4 seconds, so you only experience one shock spasm.

Wisps

Wisps are doing the weakest statuses. You can be immune pretty easily to them. I believe if you reached +7 resist you did the job done (maybe its +9, my memory is skipping on this).

you need 8.5 points to be resistant to wisps, or two maxes and a 2* status trinket.

8.5 to resist whisps (and other sources of moderate status), 6.5 to resist mist bombs (and other sources of minor status). Resisting Voltaic Tempest is probably what was meant by shockwalking.

Oh right.

Yeah now i remember. It is +6.5 and +8.5 indeed. But i always counted them as +7 and +9 cuz its actually harder to make a +0.5 resist than a whole :p
