RETALIATION
The Various monster families have had enough of your spiral knight tom foolery and each are preparing for you with devious rare new mobs.
These hard to find mobs are built to give you trouble, so you might wanna think twice, thrice...possibly a FOURTH time before tangling with them.
AN EXAMPLE FROM THE SLIME FAMILY:
The Jelly King realizes his massive gelatinous...body is not enough to repel the constant attack on his kingdom, and have created the:

DREAD JELLY KNIGHTS

The grand squishy lancer: Citrusius! This Jelly is orange, and has a helmet streamlined for speed. With a special spike lance it can rush down all but the most nimble footed of Knights, inflecting painful PEIRCE DAMAGE. However his helmet is a bit loose, so he sometimes he losses sight and rams into walls STUNNING him.

The crown prince: Haemosis! This regally dressed cube is not above using others to get what it wants, (mainly your DEATH). He spawns jelly cubes with an attack buff, and heals them (albeit very slowly) along with himself. Along with his ludicrous -see below- he has been dipping into his fathers(?) royal treasury sometimes dropping JELLY TOKENS.

The buffoon jester:Temaze! Physically weak, constantly creating obnoxious honks, and making horrible jelly puns he...well was more or less sent out to stop annoying the king. But be warned, beneath that jelly safe clown paint, a core of PURE MALICE lurks. Capable of inflecting RANDOM STATUS EFFECTS, he can even reverse your controls for a horrible LIMITED time. Dangerous? PROBABLY NOT. Annoying? YOU BET YOUR KESTER!

"But Weibbles, if these mobs are such trouble why would we even want to get near them? Surely they dont drop something I cant grind/buy?"

Well your half-right, but here's the second part of my SUGGESTION.

BOUNTY HUNTING

THAT'S RIGHT, THESE NEW MOBS POSE SUCH A THREAT THE SPIRAL ORDER HAVE PUT PRICES ON THEIR HEADS. These new mobs are a threat in the core research, and the retrieval of alpha team, so these (and all other rare mobs) have a nice fat crown reward upon their crushing defeat. Eliminating these foes can be a good way to earn a hefty sum, but there's MORE. In order to locate these baddies, all knights are issued a tablet. A BOUNTY TABLET. It contains a list of rare mobs you've seen, a probability score that shows which TIER/FLOOR you might find them. Unfortunately its not perfect, and its difficult to pinpoint their TRUE location, so sometime a high percentage isn't enough! By crafting a special LURE, you can up your chances of finding them!

Upon the first defeat you not only get the crown reward, but a small CE bonus as well(only on the first defeat for YOU remember?) Also you get a card you add to your tablet displaying a MUG SHOT, ATTACK ANIMATION, AND HUMOROUS PARAGRAPH. This also grants you the PROBABILITY SCORE, LURE RECIPE, AND REWARD METER. Defeating a certain monster enough times will fill it, giving you a PROBABILITY BONUS, ALONG WITH SPECIAL EQUIPMENT PIECE, or COSTUME!

"Weibbles, This sounds amazing, but your emphasis/capital letters are freaking me out! Also, why cards?"

I can't help it, its a BIT OF A PROBLEM!
The cards however serve a special purpose! Much like in real life, you can TRADE cards. You'll gain the information and probability charts of the other card while keeping your reward meter. However once you TRADE you LOSE your probability bonus and information. That said it is possible to have MORE THAN ONE of the same card, so collecting isn't impossible.

Why would you want to collect cards? A CARD BATTLING MINI-GAME!

CARD GAMES ON CRADLE? OH YEAH. (Warning, playing this on a motorcycle is not recommended.)
It plays a bit like rock paper scissors. You have the ATTACK CARD, STATUS CARD, AND DEFENSE CARD.
STATUS beats DEFENSE
ATTACK beats STATUS
DEFENSE beats ATTACK!
Take for example the Dread Jelly Knights.
Citrusius would be an attack card.
Haemosis would be defense.
Tamaze would be status.

Using three cards from the same FAMILY would give you a SWEET CARD BONUS, such as the Dread Jelly Knights would be a bonus that would allow you to beat one card REGARDLESS!

"Weibbles, your turning red, but I love what your saying!"

I don't know HOW MUCH MORE I CAN GIVE!

As a final note, I had the idea of a pvp mode called: THE DEADLIEST GAME!
You put a price on your own head and enter a MAZE LIKE ARENA with a LIMITED AMOUNT of hidden health pots. You and you opponents price are put into the PRICE POT, and the BLOODSHED/DANGER begins.
You hunt each other down, and the survivor win. Its one life only, so last knight standing gets THE PRICE POT. A round can hold up to EIGHT Knights, and the price minimum goes up with your over all equipment stars. FOUR star games can be ultra risky, but oh so rewarding. FIVE star games are even more intense, NO HEALTH PILLS can be found!
"Oh god Weibbles I think I'm drooli-"

I"M NOT FINISHED!

Those not in a match can participate in the HIGH ROLLERS CLUB! You may bet on who you think will win, and you can put anything on the table, there's no limit, CE? Crowns? Recipes? Unbindded equips? NO PROBLEM! Putting big money on the table might incite others so...

"Weibbles, Do you have any other monster ideas? Can I submit my own?"

SURE, I would love to see your idea's for a RETALIATION EDITION RARE MOBS.

Now if you excUSE ME I NEED TO TAKE A BREAK BEFORE I HNNNNNNNGGGG.

(Edited around a bit to correct spelling errors my OCD could not live with.)

Thats what I kinda had in

Thats what I kinda had in mind when I thought of this. An old rare mob called Tortodrone would do nothing until provoked and could lay a big hurting, but killing it gave you nothing really special. There was nothing to really go for except the stone tortoise. I was thinking when I was typing this up: "Rare mobs, thats kinda cool, but there's not many nor that amazing, what would make someone actively look for these guys?"

A few more elements of

A few more elements of classic Action RPGs would be nice, and this is one of them. SK is fast turning into the sort of addiction that Diablo provided for me, for similar reasons no less. Unique mobs with a chance for unique drops would make those similarities even greater.

Put them behind CE gates with a % chance of dropping UV gear and little else, besides heat. I'd open those gates every time ;P

Good stuff.

Not sure how I feel about the card games (I was never one of those people who got way into Tetra Triad in FF8 for example), but I would really dig unique mobs in the diablo vein. Maybe give them a % chance of dropping items that can add a random UV to your existing gear, and people would spend good crowns for lures to draw them out. I also like the idea of them popping up behind energy gates so they don't randomly wipe unsuspecting newbies' parties - maybe they could have a chance of appearing in danger rooms to make those more lucrative.

The slime jester also amuses me. Maybe the control reversing will be what that unused "muddle" status effect turns out to be.

EDIT: Also, some undead monster ideas for fun:

Reaper: Accompanied by a scattering of zombies and a retinue of 3 or 4 skeleton knights (like mecha knights, but w/o the shock effect and able to be revived like zombies). These knights attempt to protect the reaper, who appears as a floating skeleton with a blue spectral glow (kind of like phantoms’ red glow). Hooded, blindfolded, holding a scythe and hourglass. Has three attacks:
1) Summon Deadheads - floating skulls with a one directional dash attack. Can only summon additional heads once the majority of the old ones have been dispatched.
2) Rise from the Grave - aoe revive that only works on other undead creatures. takes some time to charge and can be interrupted by knockdown.
3) Swing Scythe - basic close range shadow attack, has chance to inflict doom. (Doom puts a counter above the knights head, the initial number depending on the strength of the status / tier. If the counter reaches zero, a portal opens beneath the knight, black energy shoots out, and the knight is killed instantly. The counter can be erased by dispatching the monster that caused the doom effect.)

Frankennaut: Huge zombie with slow, powerful attacks and lots of health. Can cannibalize other zombies to restore health. The catch? He only shows up in graveyards. Enjoy those phantoms.

@TheAurablaze Super wolver

@TheAurablaze Super wolver pack eh? Hmmm

I may possible be focusing on the SUPER part a bit TOO MUCH, but lets see where it goes!

The BEAST family is well known for its brutality, and thanks to the MEDDLING SCHEMES of a certain Goblin king, the food chain is about get REVISED.

Introducing the MUTANT STRAINS:

The INSECTALISK - This chromalisk was altered with a hard chitinous shell after a strange tick bite. PIERCE attacks no longer work against him! Not only that but it as LOST the ability to use its tongue at a distance, but gained a fast moving MOVEMENT SLOWING WEB move. Its standard attack is now a leaping bite has a chance of draining health, so stay wary of its BITE. However, FIRE will produce a FLASH to it, which will also STUN him. HE'S A MENACE! GET ME FIRE VIALS, FIRE VIALS FOR INSECTALISK!

The DARKBITE - After its parent (Snarbolax?) was GRINDED in front of it, it became obsessed with DEFEATING the knights who did this. He would don a cloak of black leaves, and would hunt down any who would mean harm to the beast family. Grim, determined, and now with an arsenal of RANGED ATTACKS. However like his parents, STUN still is very effective. It will cause him to bemoan the fate of its parents. "HIS PARENTS ARE GRRRRIIIINDMEAT."

Eeeeh I forgot my third one, NOT MY BEST I APOLOGIZE.

@Oedipus/Killerabbit Actually that's pretty smart. I was thinking about dividing up rare mob locations based on tiers, Insectalisk, Darkbite, and Citrusis would be tier 2. Jester Jelly would be tier 1 etc. Also while in a danger room, depending on the tier, would increase the chances of running into a rare mob for that tier. As for the UV altering drop...yes, but I would prefer that being a little rare, uncommon at least.

@Shmak Thanks bro, I tried to make it APPEALING AND EXCITING

@killerabbit The card game was an afterthought, as a way of giving players a little more content that can be played without energy when they don't feel like down rocketing/delving down. I too love the slime jester, I got my inspiration from a drug that's street name is Jellies. Both of your Undead ideas sound amazing, but DEFINITELY tier 3 league.
Also I read/saw your gauntlet Idea, that would be great end game content.
