In the face of the recent ongoing(steam launch and new players): What do u think is happening at OOO right now?
I have this 1/3 theory:
Right now:
1/3 of the people at OOO are armed with fire-extinguisher and try to keep the server form not burning away.
1/3 is desperately trying to rent more servers.
1/3 pop the corks in the face of the massive number of energy bought.
Edit: recent, not resent.
I think they're all getting all kinds of drunk/partying, since they have copious amounts of alcohol in their workplace.
They might be sleeping like normal human beings. I don't know, I never figured out what time it is for them.
I vote an extra option: finagling with Valve to get everything with Steam to run just right.
I think they're planning on getting Puzzle Pirates on Steam. (Previous MMO needs population boost, badly. Previous MMO, your life force is running out.)
Speaking of questions, anyone wondering what Sega has been doing regarding Spiral Knights? The Sega/no Steam population numbers were much, much lower than the Sega+Steam numbers.

The Sega/no Steam populations were pretty much still in the Closed Beta. It's expected for those numbers to be low.
From what I understand, Sega has been throwing its considerable weight behind advertising (so you're right, they have helped with numbers) but I think programming and art/story direction remains in the hands of the Three Rings Design team.

Puzzle Pirates used to have full severs all of the time where you waited just to log in. It is nothing new, they will just open more servers. With Eurydice at OOO it is always a party.

I have this theory that the number of people at Three Rings is not a multiple of three.
Parties all day e'ery day.
In none of their other games have I seen OOO handing their players free game currency (energy in this case) ever. Not even in contests or anything. Considering this kind of generosity, I'd say they must be pretty euphoric right now. :)

Yeah, I figure they're running around putting out fires. I envision them panicking, flailing wildly with fire extinguishers like the Sims.
They considered hiring the Gremlins to do it (as they wear fire-retardant outfits), but that runs the risk of the Gremlins adding turrets, rocket launchers, and flamethrowers. So instead of "we need to put out the server fires," it'd be "we need to survive the server's gunfire."

Other then from the people that were raising the price of CE... and the ones that are annoyed at the price of low level mats going up due to the massive influx of players I haven't seen any resentment towards the steam players.
Right now I believe OOO is going staring dumbfounded at the numbers and going "I think we may need another server or 2..."
