Alright, I know that it's a spankin new item and we don't really know what to do with it yet (and therefore are currently unaware of its true mechanics and nature), but...
I want it to be classified in the arsenal system as a token, not a rarity. Rarities are more in the vein of (crystal) energy forms, helping to upgrade equipment (sprites are equipment) and revive. To old school players, you'll remember those activities relied heavily on energy. How does the GScoin relate? Again, IDK yet :3
Like all tokens, the GScoin is starless (while all other rarities have star levels except the SoL), and will likely have a location/vendor specific "currency" use (as does every token) and it's literally a coin, come on, it's screaming to be a token. Unless I'm proven wrong with its usage in the future, nyeh!
Even considering its acquisition methods, the coin is more like a token - and it breaks the rarity pattern, being snatched from defeated monsters. To be consistent with rarities, GScoins should also be available on the supply depot for energy - BUT I DO NOT WANT THAT. Game needs decent crown sinks that don't make you want to Punch a certain gremlin. Those FAH sales were great.
I had similar thoughts before, regarding accessory recovery.
It's should be a token because it is a token. Blah.
