>An idea which should be applied to the game in the future to make it more interesting should be having the choice to be an average knight of the Spiral Order, or a Recon Ranger by talking to Desna in the base of the Recon Rangers. This is basically like a job change idea, but only for when players make a new knight, otherwise players with 5* gear would just have it easy.

>Way to become a Recon Ranger:
As new Knights go to Haven, a Via Comlink will appear with the Grim Masked Recon Ranger in The Lab named Gimmy, asking for your assistance to join the Recon Rangers, by finding Desna. In order to get to Desna, the base entrance is the open pod that the Grim masked Recon Ranger is messing with, having the base actually be under the Lab. Once the player is in the base of the Recon Rangers they will find Desna in the far north in front of a flag with the crest of the rangers. When you speak to Desna, she will ask specific questions for if the player is worthy of being part of the rangers, and once she is done, Desna will say the Recon Rangers creed. The final test to become an official Recon Ranger is to remember the creed and type it back at Desna.

The Creed:

"We are the Recon Rangers"
"We go where others cannot, do what no one else can"
"We have gazed into the abyss, and it has gazed into us"
"We have faced the darkest depths of the clockworks, we have confronted the terrors within"
"We are the things that go bump in the night"
"When our enemies lurk in the shadows, we charge in after them"
'We are the Rangers"
"We are the best of the Spiral Order"
"And we shall know no fear"

>New missions for the elite Recon Rangers & rank details:
The rank system for the Recon Rangers would not involve having Recruit-Vanguard titles but instead Recon Ranger as the title, overall the rank system still would be same like the average knight system. Comparing with the missions of average knights, the Recon Ranger path gives more different missions, missions filled with more danger, and greater prizes. Overall I have the idea of making the missions have new types of monsters, like hybrids in Danger Missions, in other words all the missions are Danger Missions from Tier 1-Tier 3.

>Special equipment exclusives for Recon Rangers:
After knights pass Desna's test of becoming a Recon Ranger, she gives free 1* equipment with a Recon Ranger crest. The armor is called "Dangerous Helmet" and "Dangerous Armor" with "The Bitter End" shield (which doesn't change in physical form but the stats increase each time from 1*-5*) and there is the "Dangerous Blade" which has a cutter design but with three swings but having the last one be a spin slash, the "Dangerous Chaingun" is merely an Autogun, and the "Dangerous Spark" would be an elemental bomb but would not give status effects, having a yellow explosion. When it comes to having the Dangerous gear go from 1*-5* is that there is a "Dangerous Alchemy Machine" which has recipes for every single armor (Not exactly every equipment, but just one of each line re-customized with the Recon Ranger look). When it comes to the 1* gear that is obtained from Desna, it cannot be unbound or sold, basically like players 0* gear when making a new knights. But when it comes to being a Recon Ranger, players cannot use any outside armor or shield, but weapons would be an exception (considering the pride of the Recon Rangers are the uniform and The Bitter End shield). PS: The 1* gear that is obtained from Desna connects to any line of armor.

>The Dangerous token shop:
Recon Rangers are able to find Dangerous tokens from the Clockworks, but also able to gain them from missions. The shop is held by a Recon Ranger named Ward, with a re-customized plate set. The items players can obtain from the token shop would be the 1* helmet and armor Desna gives, Recon Ranger crests, Anti-Personal Spikes accessory, Dangerous Hedge Coat which will be a new 5* armor, and a new 5* version of Diablo helmet with two horns, Oni helmet with an eyepatch instead of goggles, and the Grim mask with a spike Mohawk.

I dont know, having "jobs" introduced of which you can only select one sems a little limiting to say the least, especially with exclusive gear.
what I would like much more if you were to get some sort of side missions (like the current missions but mostly unconnected to them). imagine OCH but instead of one mission in three tiers, you get several missions spanning several tiers. if you want "exclusive" gear, you could get it from the end mission(s).
you could do the same for the hazard knights, allowing you to advance your status in both groups. maybe even more than just those two once they are added.

actually one of the ideas for players having the chance to become Recon Rangers is that they get more exclusive missions, considering they are an elite group which go all the way into the deepest depths for intel for the Spiral Order. Basically like Danger Missions but start from tier 1 all the way to tier 3, so you could say the Recon Ranger route focuses more on expert players to go for the challenge, or noobies, doesn't matter. As for the gear, it will be explained soon. though nice ideas.

Ehh

See while I like the idea of different types of missions, I don't think reimagining the entire system is all that great...

Having a "recon ranger" expansion set of missions, bought with real money, and spans across several tiers that relate to gaining intel for HQ would be super cool, and accessible to all players. Having new "recon" missions unlock with your rank would also be neat.

Missions could revolve around the lockdown recon shield, and players may only have access to weaker weapons, relying more on stealth.

Like Neueragon mentioned, having a similar situation for the scarlet scouts, in the form of speedrunning levels, would be fun.

Basically, don't push new content to an entirely different part of the game, let all players try it out but have it be a different kind of gameplay. Stealth and speedrunning are two things we don't really have, and so officially implemented bits of that with potential lore involved would be wonderful.

You got a good point, to buy an expansion, and for the idea of having the recon pack to go recon, and Scarlet Scouts could have some great speed boost to do quick combat. To be honest, I feel this idea of yours could be a thing, or something related to the elite units, I may be way in over my head but, why else would there be a Recon Ranger in The Lab when there are no others around?

Err

Recon Rangers are simply other knights, nothing special outside of the missions they are assigned.

As we follow our story as knights, we end up being sent in to save rangers on occasion. Having one in the lab is likely just a way to make the world feel more alive.

The idea is for recons and scouts to be additional PvE playstyles/missions, and it opens up a huge new type of play. Scout gameplay could have enemies dropping reduced rewards as time goes on, but have a big treasure room with rewards depending on your time. Recon gameplay could have to do with infiltration and not being seen - however we'd need new AI for this sort of thing that A) don't see through recon shields and B) doesn't detect knights without a direct line of sight.

That being said, if these things can be done, it opens up a whole new world of PvE.
