As a player since launch of the game, I've grew accustomed to the way the whole entire game was set up since beta/launch. After the new update I didn't see myself catching on with the whole new system and it created an uproar from the community. I remember every time I would log on, it would be an endless guild chat of complains. One of the things I see happening to this game is that we obviously keep the current version, but we open up another server Which would be known as Spiral Knights 2.0. In this version I can see everything BUT the new heat system and healing system staying in the new version. And with this new version I would love to see a reset on all the knights, so you can either decide to play the current version with your already progressed knight, or play the new version and Build up on your knight with the way we love to play. Not only do I think it will bring in new players, but it would also bring in the older players such as myself. In my opinion the fresh start process would be healthy for the community. And if no one wants to bother, they can just say on the current version of the game.
Spiral Knights 2.0
Honestly the heating system can stay but just make 5* crystals have a higher drop rate.
So you want to play the game without the limits that keep you coming back every day.
There will always be a time-wall. The people who were complaining before couldn't move on with the change. The change to this new system was a huge leap in the right direction for the game, especially since they nipped the ability to pay to win being reasonable.
You're looking back with rose-tinted glasses. Free elevators, free heating... That leaves zero pacing of progression. Players will get into tier 2 and die horrendously, be carried by better players, and then claim the game is too hard after getting into tier 3 after two days of playing. There are limits for a reason - so you can learn the game and improve yourself to prepare for the next area. Remove that safeguard and players will progress faster but their limited skill will prevent them from enjoying later parts of the game. You want to do this for "old players", but one of your reasons is for new players to progress faster. Do you really want someone who can't complete tier 1 in your tier 3 party?
EDIT: then you change your mind and just say we need higher radiant drops, lol. Yeah, welcome to the end game buddy, we're all giving our ideas about how to make radiants less of a problem.
We already have multiple threads about heating/reviving and the remote possibility of alternative servers. Why not just add your comments to the discussion already underway there? All else being equal, an argument carries more force when it's in one place. Good luck.
As a test run, the servers could have a limited amount of players, and once that limit has reached maybe the server capacity can increase. I know the game is all about profit but as a player who grew up on this game, spent hours a day and would always think about it, I just want this game to be "Spiral Knights" again.
