I've been playing this game for almost a year now: 1000+ hours on Steam, nearly 30K prestige, Chaos/Swiftstrike wih a bunch of fully heated 5*(including an Electron Vortex and a 4* Voltedge) weps and all slots unlocked 24/7, still loving it. One of the bigger incentives to continue were these mysterious event thingies, complete with their own shiny rare items and unique missions to battle through.
The one that caught my attetnion the most was Apocrea. I wasn't really sure of the Torto gear and having to fight infamously hard bosses for them, and kitty armor is, well, RNG as heck: if I get them, great, otherwise, I still have Chaos.
Obsidian gear, however, seemed much more feasible, looked cool, the poison theme was VERY nice with my deep hatred for tier 3 menders, and the Crusher would've been a great alternative to the Electron before I had it. Not to mention navigating a cryptic spooky maze collecting unholy artifacts while avoiding Mr. H. P. Slendercraft with my good ole' buddies seemed like a lot of fun, and a chance to grind up enough sigils to get myself an aura that I can sell for a whopping 900k crown price!. So back in 2015 I went out of my way to develop and fully heat a CTR med Silent Nightblade, a Blackhawk and a Graviton Charge so that when Apocrea arrives, I'm ready.
Winterfest passed, got my fancy new Frosty suit and sold the scarves for a buncha crowns, Kitty event passed, got nothing but a Black Kat Sera and the 5* bomber kat mask for another suit, Tortos passed, wasted far too much time, effort, money and sparks for the 150 shells only to realize that tortofists do indeed suck and the shields aren't really worth the T2 orbs I can never get. Then there was the whole OOO/SEGA/Grey Havens debacle which lasted forever and bascially was the warning sign that the game is going down right when it was getting truly fun for me.
BUT. Grey Havens did not dissapoint us! They pulled through, saved the game form its once seemingly inevitable demise! And now, with me getting and succesfully selling a lucky MvM drop on the Steam market, the Legendary Shroud of Apocrea that I've been waiting for nearly half a year...

...Excactly 2 days after I've already succumbed to the peer pressure from my pessimistic friends and made my Nightblade into the boring old Acheron.
...And it lasts throughout the beginning of my university exam session, with the hardest 2 exams also being the first 2.
...And when my parents came over for 2 weeks, who are so overzealously anti-gamer that one of them, not being very tech-savvy, once atempted to delete my games by physically assaulting my entire system block untill it could no longer work.

So in summary you crafted Acheron just before this event, and you're busy during this event, so you'd like it extended. Okay. But here are some consolations:
1. Acheron is at least as good as Obsidian Edge. Whether it's boring is a different matter, up to you.
2. Obsidian Carbine is usually better than Sentenza, but that's not saying much. And Obsidian Crusher is usually not as good as Electron Vortex, as you already know.
3. During a Kataclysm, you can easily get 70 Ancient Pages and turn them in for the 3-star Black Kat helmet. Its offense is as good as any Black Kat armor's. Its defense is terrible, but that's not the point. So you should have that.
