Oh mighty java, will we have a change to that or some sort of uptade that fixes memory leaks or anything? That would be a good place to start GH. I'm getting mad during current Apocrea runs cuz of people using stutter weps which as I already mentioned shouldn't exist in first place.
Let's talk about posibilities to improve engine that this game runs on.

I mostly want them to make it
I mostly want them to make it work on 1.8 as well as it does on 1.7.
When I came back to SK after a long hiatus I ran it on my system install of 1.8 and couldn't believe how slow it was compared to how it used to be. A bit of experimentation showed that it ran well on the latest 1.7 I could find so I put a private copy under spiral/
for SK's exclusive use. And when I look around at other players and their load-in times I can't attribute it solely to OS differences (I run SK under Linux and have played with plenty of people running it under Windows previously) so I have to believe that the Java version difference is the primary factor.
They just need a better asset-loading system. One where each loaded asset adds itself to a list so that it can be properly unloaded.
I'm sure that it's more complicated than that, but they need to do something about these memory leaks.
Also, I suggest you revise the thread title. As it stands, I thought you were going to talk about replacing the engine.
