Asking for explanations.

So do any members of the administrative staff wanna chime in on why the quality of overall gameplay has gone seriously downhill in the last week or so? Connection issues, items vanishing from players inventories, rude little cretins running rampant and uncontested.

Would anyone like to man up and explain to all of us what is going on over there? We are the fans of the game here, and we'd help you with whatever if you'd take 2 seconds to actually talk to us and work through what the problems are, but the game is getting more and more unplayable with each passing day it would seem and I sure would love to know what in the world is going on.

Am I the only one wondering?

So.

Well, again remember that they had to do the server move only two months ago. I'd expect things to be a bit rocky.

Yes, SK is slowly starting to become unplayable, but I'd honestly expect that while they try to patch things up.
I'm expecting Gray Havens to still be trying to patch things up in the background, though the crowd has been asking for at least an event to appear...

Again, this is my personal take on thing. I mean, everyone has been talking about it lately (Especially with the Apocrea mission itself) and I'm sure they're aware of it by now.

And I'm pretty sure the group itself is pretty small, too...

Maybe

Im not sure, but maybe Apocrea has some effect on this issue :)
To be frank it is actually a bit true, but nothing really heavy for me. Hope it doesnt get worse tho'.

point

I understand theres been a server move ect. but again my real problem here is the lack of communication. They might have a very small team of people working on a lot of problems but they could at least try and help themselves by keeping the community informed and up to speed. No one can help if they don't know anything about whats going on. Its all well and good to want to try and take care of everything by yourself, but they are only inhibiting themselves by not utilizing the resources at their disposal (the community itself)

I dont mean any offence, but im curious.
How do you imagine this helping thing?
Im guessing, they most likely have either financial / manpower / logistics issues.
How can the community help in any of those problems? And would they help, if they knew the exact problems?

All it would take to fix

All it would take to fix basically all of those problems is just knowing the right person to call.
If finances are the issue, people can weigh in on the kinds of items/events/ect. they want to see, and a promotion can be offered where stuff (that people actually want) can be obtained for xyz amount or half price boosts for a month or whatever. That issue is the most easily rectified.

If they are lacking in the manpower department there are still thousands of people still playing this game, some of whom are very talented professionals in the industry and who also know other very talented individuals. If I knew what the issue was, I could point some people who may be of some use in their direction, and they can work together to either reduce the mounting workload of the dev staff, or the player moderation teams. Both of which APPEAR to need serious assistance.

As far as logisitics issues are concerned its true that will mostly need to be handled on their end, though it would really depend on where and what the actual issues are. I'd be interested to see what other people (AND THE STAFF) think/ have to say about it however. I really just want to promote discussion of what we can do as players to help this game get better, and NOT sink into the black oblivion of obscurity.

if you're trying to attract Grey Havens

If you're trying to attract employees of Grey Havens, along with other players, you might consider changing the name of your thread to something more descriptive. How about "Why has the quality of game play gone downhill?" The current title, "Asking for explanations.", could be about anything.

Hm.

I haven't noticed all the issues you mentioned. But until GH irons out all the kinks, this might be of some use if you haven't done this already: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=675719352

I'm clear

The game remains perfectly playable for me. Only time it starts stuttering is after long playtimes, especially after doing apocrea with other knights(I don't lag if I do it solo for some reason).

This may be because I have optimized my game to the best of my ability. In the past we haven't had the best of communication with the staff about technical issues outside of "game isn't working, make it work again".

The "items vanishing from player inventories"... I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about the slime keys? Those were manually removed by GMs because they weren't supposed to be in the game. Rude players are in all online games - just do what the rest of us do and use the in-game reporting function, otherwise it never goes to the higher ups.

The game is 100% playable for me...when my internet isn't freaking out, that is, can't do a whole lot if 50% of my data is timing out. *glares at internet*

It tends to lag a bit more if I sit in Haven for too long or if I go through an Apocrea mission but tbh, that's Java for you. It isn't the best language in the world but things could be a lot worse. As some have mentioned, try optimizing your game some to try and improve performance.

I think its the beginning of a long needed healing process

Bound to be spotty/patchy but our boys/gals over at Gray Haven inherited one hell of a mess mind you. im sure its gonna lead to some messy bits as its required often to make a larger mess in order to clean one
