Well, I recently started to use the buckler. It's good and all.

But the main problem is, it blocks one hit (sometimes but mostly break when receiving it) on elite difficulty in tier 3.

So, I got a small suggestion...make a 4* and 5* upgrade for it. Just to block more and have more shield health. But for being such an useful shield, in offensive terms, maybe being the weakest shield of all the shield in 5*, being weaker than Barbarous thron shield, and with it, we can atleast block 1 attack succesfully (of course not a hit from Vana).

So yeah, that's my suggestion

Swiftstrike is meant to have weak defense. Combo it with Chaos for intense power.

You trade out one of your best ways of resisting attacks with a very noticeable bonus to attack speed. That's the way of the glass cannon. (That's not my style and will never be btw)

eh

I've seen this suggestion before, but in order for it to really be viable it needs to be less ASI per star level increase.

Basically, it could be something like 3* - ASI high. 4* splits into a gun ASI: med line and a sword ASI: med line. It also gets an increase of normal defense and health. 5* gets an increase in normal defense, gains +2 to a status, but gains no additional shield health. Since it's 5* it keeps the ASI med.

3* is glass cannon, other ones are less glass but a little less cannon.

I'll have to agree with Blazecat here. SSB is pretty much the glassiest cannon that there is, along with the 3* BK set.

I think If we pulled a BK here and made an extremely rare miniboss that dropped Mats needed to craft higher versions of it, then that would be pretty cool. I don’t think this would really help the situation as the people who would get the shield would be the richer players (like the BK sets). It would be cool just for completion's sake.

And also add upgrades for Scarlet Shield. It wouldn’t be overpowered because nobody really uses it.

Interesting tidbit

Interesting thing about swiftstrike actually is that it needs to remain 3* to be effective for the weapon it's designed for. Seem odd? Let me explain:

Echo, the Striker in the Hall of Heroes, wields a swiftstrike buckler and a dread venom striker. Echo will hold this shield well into 4* and 5* hall of heroes. Why is this? Because it is the shield pairing with cutters.

Cutters alone aren't that great. The most boosts you get with cutters the more amazing they get. Attack speed increase is huge, and damage bonuses on top of that make it really nice. However, the biggest problem is their short range. This range is exemplified with a 5* shield because of the shield bump power, therefore the swiftstrike buckler does two things right for cutters - low star shield, increase attack speed. Pair it with skolver and you have a powerful fast and aggressive weapon. This is also why the swiftstrike mentions "melee weapons" in its description - it's supposed to be paired with a cutter, a melee weapon.

As such, swiftstrike should either be upgraded to be a better cutter shield (retain low shield bump ability) or it should be upgraded to be a not-cutter shield over time. Increased shield bump, shield bash power, and less attack speed are all things that make it less cutter like, therefore can be upgrades.
