Suggestion for Moonstone and Valestone uses

I think it would be cool if Moonstone and Valestone had a use besides surveys; since the use was removed a couple years ago.

Valestone can increase health depending on size (Small = 1 peg, Med = 2 pegs, Large = 4 pegs, Shiny = 6 pegs)

Moonstone can increase your shield size, again depending on size (Small = 10%, Med = 20%, Large = 40%, Shiny = 60%)

I suggest these uses so players can make a decision on what crystal they actually choose. I have the Drakon sprite and I've found that if a level doesn't have Crimsonite, I just leave without taking anything as Dark Matter and Luminite are useless to me. So if a level doesn't have the crystal that you want, you can at least take a Valestone or Moonstone deposit to help you throughout the level.

Elaborate on Function

Will the Minerals increase Shield/HP when picked up? How long does the Minerals take effect, because you need to remember a good lot of Minerals are available AFTER an entire floor.

The buffs would last as long as you're carrying the mineral, which means you can't have the two buffs at the same time since you can only carry one mineral at a time.

If you were to reach the end of a level while carrying a buff mineral and you see one that you want (in my case Crimsonite) you would just be able to drop the buff mineral and pick up the Crimsonite just like any other mineral. There's no harm at all in having a buff that helps you throughout the level, especially in Tier 3 levels.

You've Misread

To elaborate, I mean that some levels, Minerals are available at the Exit Elevator. Take for example the Jigsaw Valley — Many parts of the level only has Minerals at Exit Elevator. Boss Fights are included. It's not like most levels have them mid-way or even in the beginning.

Nothing can be done about

Nothing can be done about that unless the entire algorithm for mineral spawning is changed, or the levels are edited to include minerals at the beginning of levels or half-way through. The entire idea was thought of as a way to give Valestone and Moonstone a general purpose. Basically, nothing can be done.

Another problem I ran into while thinking this idea further is that you are most likely carrying the mineral to the elevator, therefore putting it in your inventory. While it's nice that you get buffs throughout the level; it will also clutter up your inventory, so I suggest some sort of shop that sells items for minerals (maybe rarities?)

This will also get rid of the problem with minerals being at the end of levels as opposed to halfway or at the beginning, so the minerals still have a use outside of the clockworks.

Great Idea

Having a Shop for such Minerals. It will probably be quite expensive to balance out the endless grinding. Is it only Moonstone/Valestone or will it encompass all Minerals?

You can look at it two ways:

Moonstone/Valestone only: The two minerals would have a use while the other three are used for battle sprites, the only downside I can see is that you wouldn't be able to spend the sprite minerals you don't need (in my case, Dark Matter and Luminite)

All minerals: All minerals would be allowed, so you can spend any mineral you want, but giving more use to the sprite minerals would overshadow Moonstone and Valestone, since you could go out and grind Dark Matter, feed your sprite, and buy items with the leftovers, therefore possibly making Moonstone and Valestone useless again. The only way I can see to fix that issue is by making the Moonstone/Valestone items sold in the shop superior to the sprite mineral items. Then, if a player were to go to a mineral deposit, they could make the decision "Oh, Luminite is nice for my sprite, but I really want the item that's being sold in the shop for Valestone."

Given the benefits, I would assume the shop would allow all minerals, as long as the items sold for Valestone/Moonstone are superior to the sprite mineral items.
