In the options page, in prompts, at the bottom of the page it says, and I quote "Hatch Battle Sprite Egg"
Could it be that this is a removed/cancelled future?
Is it just a typo?
I like the idea of them hatching from eggs, it would make them a lot more natural, instead of getting them in babycages...
What do you guys think?

maybe they mean pod

You get battle sprites from pods. Maybe they mean that?

Your find is interesting, in that it suggests a change at some point in the design process.

probably just internal language

It likely is just the internal names for battle sprite pods. There's a few other ones in there too, like almirian crusaders being called "broken" and phantoms being called "reapers" in the sound folder, and vanaduke being called "baron" in the monster character folder.

Just so happened that they never changed the lingo in the prompt-disable thingy.

Overthinking?

It probably just means for when you open a sprite pod and bind the sprite to your knight.

I'm a Wizard

Nah. Too generic.
You know where Battle Sprites come from, right?

Also if they hatched from eggs then they probably wouldn't have a cool harness, which looks like a Bandana to me.
