@Blazecat-Percival: What if base damage was only a little less on the Sword, and only the third hit and charge have Poison? Or add a self-Poison chance?
For the Shield, no. Give it CTR or a mix of weak buffs (ASI Low+DMG Low?) to set it apart. Just giving it Poison resist would make it not worth getting, since Poison isn't a very strong status anyway, and you could use those Nightmare Manes to make the much more valuable Snarbolax gear.

Where were you when I was farming dreams and nightmares and sniped by 25 poison slimes at the same time?
I literally bring my savage tortoshield to that mission purely because of the poison resistance. It's the only pierce shield with poison and normal resistance as well, making it a suitable choice for the mission.
Having your attack cut in half and your defense cut by 10% is a pretty big deal when you're stuck like that for more than 10 seconds. A normal/pierce/poison shield with combat bonuses too? Well it sounds a bit OP but super useful in the same vein.
Sword CTR: low on the shield with poison would probably remain balanced.
Status flourish should be alright as it. Make sure it's a fair chance like the flamberge and not slight chance like the rigadoon.

That's the idea. I'm assuming Greedygreen means for this to be endgame gear like the normal Snarbolax Set, so it should be powerful.
And it's not that Poison resist is useless, it's that it doesn't justify having to do Shadow Lairs just to get it, if that's what Greedygreen is implying. Especially since the weaker defense would make the shield break easier, and Swordies value our shields more than anyone. BTS is already sort of fragile anyway since most popular levels don't have a lot of Pierce.

It's not a rapier, it's a foil. But whatever. Status flourishes are known to be bad, so expect this new one to be underpowered.
