Energy Idea Away to Play With No Pay (The idea is not getting rid of energy)

The thing with energy is it basically reduces the amount of time you can play, and a lot of people want a way to get more energy without real money but then we have to waste large amounts of our crown, and surveys are just a bad idea now how about this if The creators of Spiral Knights got rid of the energy costs for the elevators or lifts whatever you want to call them and only the lifts not the energy gates not reviving after death not for creating items just the lifts and with this unlimited play time with a decent amount of people stilling paying to get that extra energy for the players that want these extra perks ill call them and I don't find this unreasonable and I'm hoping many others don't and that the game creators don't either but this is just an opinion so please leave a reply and tell me what you think.

Thinking doing this would also reduce the amount of people who buy energy just to go into the clockworks selling any excess energy for crowns hence maybe balancing the crown/energy currency sink

I actually think the CE thing is a good system, I mean sure its stupid that players are limited on play time 'thats my only complaint' but I think its a good sink for crowns. The problem with money in every game is inflation, any new players will have it hard where as the older players will be too far into the game to be bothered. Hence the rich always get richer and the poor stay the same.

Possibly an alternative is how fast Mist energy is restored or the access to mist tanks. Currently 100 mist takes 24 hours so basically this game is free to play every 24 hours. Firstly do the devs even want to change this? I don't think they would because they obviously foresaw the problem having only 100 mist per day.

So if they do agree that we should be able to play the game without having to buy CE then I'd suggest:

1. Increasing our mist tank cap to possible 500/1000 per 24 hour period.
-Then the game can arguably be a F2P game
-500 mist would only be around 6 fulls runs of a single tier which would only amount of about 3-5 hours of gameplay depending on progressive speed.
-Will help control inflation because players won't be required to exchange crowns for CE as much.

2. Allow players to buy mist tanks for a cheap/fixed CR price
-Help control inflation of CE because it gives CR value therefore it'll give newer players who don't want to buy CE or can't buy CE an alternative.
-Crowns sink, keeps prices of items in check and makes sure new players that join won't be put off by the inability to upgrade their gear due to lack of ability in making crowns.

F2P Games should be F2P

F2P thats what this game is? I thought that hour a day of gameplay was kind of like demo of sorts because i myself just do not have the money to pay for energy and i'm sure there are others in the same situation, also if i have to use crowns to get energy I wont be able to buy better gear so ill be stuck in teir 1 and wont be able to get to teir 2 or 3 where the larger amounts of crown can be made, and if i continually wait the 24 hours every day then it will be tedious to get all the upgraded gear to enter higher tiers so no matter what those who cant buy energy will always be behind those who can pay . And all this is doing is getting rid of the 10 energy needed to use the lift it would still be needed for special doors, trinket slots, and revival, also making items. And you can say those who buy energy deserve to get ahead becuase they buy it but there are many people who want to buy but just can't. And the Devs could just do this for tier 1 and let people get used to the game and then they can get crowns without wasting there energy to get more energy for the higher tiers.

i suggest u focus on the gear

i suggest u focus on the gear first using all the funds to getting to t2

or better yet getting help in making that money/armor

Only first tier

Even if only lift cost is taken out of first tier or even just up to the first terminal it would increase the ability to get crowns to pay for energy atleast and also to get to tier 2

i had to go through that you know i can relate but that made getting into t2 all the more rewarding

try to find someone willing to craft u a wolver set or a 2* weapon/shield they arent that expensive to make

I understand, But

I definitely understand not doing this for the entire game that i think would offset a balance. Now the first terminal is like Depth 4 asking the first 3 depths to be free of the lift charge isn't asking allot. And the way your replying to me is that your talking to me not the post while the post is pointed toward a group of newcomers not just me, and also I might get lucky to find someone to do that but many noobs may not in fact i'm not quite sure what a wolver set is exactly and i'm sure they wouldn't either. I do apologize if I am being bossy.

3 gates being free equals to 30 energy per player plus if high tier players can do this then they can farm them without wasting energy (albeit barely making any money but it is some). i understand the plight many new players go through but OOO needs to make their money somehow sorry man this is just how these things work. maybe later OOO will work something out

btw the wolver set is an armor/helmet that is fairly popular

30 plus revives which can stack up in one run when your a noob. and i doubt any higher grade players would waste their time on noob cash

As Ni2 said they could just increase mist energy cap and that will help not only noobs but the general players of SK in reality but that might be to much to ask

you dont revive with energy

you dont revive with energy that is meant to be a last resort

a player can give you half his health to you in order to revive (no energy needed)

this is ultimately up to OOO but i wouldnt count on it

i think so at the very least Eurydice roams around and i assume "catalogs" various things as to what becomes of them i don't know
