Ok from fighting the snarblox i got the Spline cone and now im thinking of buying the upgraded version of it the Twisted spline cone... And before i use my money i want to know if its good or not can someone help me? Youd be doing me a GREAT favor :b
Twisted Spline Cone Is It Good Or Bad?
Good for taking out wolvers and suchlike beasts. Not very good at all for slimes and constructs. I've got one and it's been useful in Snarbolax runs.
Annihilates beasts; all bombs are good vs wolvers, as the lovable little critters tend to leap right into your bomb radius and do most of your work for you. Gremlins tend to cluster, so it's nice versus them. Good vs fiends, too, which means you can annhilate those damn silkwings, even if they're taking shelter behind 3 lumbars.
It's basically a blast bomb with no knockback, piercing instead of normal, and a slightly longer fuse time. I love mine to bits. Highly recommended.
It has a smaller blast radius than the Blast Bomb series, and a faster detonation timer at 2*-- but gets slower and slower in higher-star upgraded versions. The damage is the same (except if there's a weakness or resistance involved of course).
(Is it bad that when I see "Spline," I instantly start thinking "Reticulate them?")

As far as I'm concerned, those are all things in favor of the blast bomb series.

I'm hearing that in my head now, too, so... maybe?
Well, the spine cone is the only bomb with a blast radius that has piercing damage.
Good for fiends and wolvers.
Bad for slimes and constructs.
Gigfreak: blast is smaller? Really? Thought they were the same.
Malicus: I'm not crazy about the longer fused time, but the DPS is the same... you still drop bombs at the same rate, after all. I kinda like it. I can be further away from the enemies, and still be confidant they'll be in the radius by the time it blows.
As for knockback, I really don't get the appeal. It doesn't protect me, it doesn't keep phantoms or spookats or wolvers away, and it annoys the sword-wielders. Also, most people spam the damn things, and either throw attacking monsters into their team mates, or throw them out of another bombers blast radius.
I have a crippling fear of swarms of t3 greavers.
An encounter usually has me turtling up and crying like a baby while my friend obliterates them with two or three placements of the 5* version of the bomb.
Once you see how mean t3 fiends are, you'll really love it for taking them out :)

Yes, I'm certain. I compared the 2* Blast Bomb and the 2* Spine Cone in the Advanced Training Hall. (This was the day after the Snarbolax was implemented, so several guildmates hopped in with me to see the new bomb at work.) Their charge speeds are comparable and their damage is identical, but the 2* Spine cone detonates sooner and in a smaller radius. Reports say the 5* Dark Briar Barrage has a slower fuse time than the 5* Nitronome, so the Spine Cone's fuse must get slower in higher-star versions.)
A longer fuse isn't necessarily bad. With a short fuse, you have to get close to the monsters and set your bomb. A longer fuse requires a different play style. Instead of going to the monsters, you set the bomb and retreat in such a way that the monsters will pass through the blast radius. Long and narrow corridors are one situation where this works. The Spine Cone series requires you to play defensively. This is not a game where DPS is always worth crippling your defense.
Traditional bomb tactics are difficult to use against Greavers. They move fast and leave a damaging mist after each attack. The mist can quickly break a shield if you don't retreat. The last thing a bomber wants to do is charge recklessly into a pack of Greavers.
Overall, the Spine Cone series is a specialized bomb. In this game, specialized weapons are meant to cover the gaps in your offense that your other weapons don't cover.
Greaver Mist doesn't break shields, it ignores and bypasses shields completely.
Longer fuse times are more difficult to use in arenas. Considering how important arenas are, it's worth consideration.
um its spine cone dude and that all depends it is a piercing bomb do you do jelly king runs? if so i wouldnt since they are resistant
