i was informed that the game masters read the suggestions here and i have so much ideas to make this game much better and more famous so i will begin by the 1st one and i will be sure to post more if this one got serious WHAT IF???
every knight in the game had the right to choose between 5 styles? sword master, gunslinger, mad bomber, royal guardian, and dodger
in each style the player become allowed to maximize his handling for some weapons such as sword master the player can have some very special moves and attacks and he can even make combo hits! have more than one way to hit with the sword let alone of course the damage bonus (hight or very hight or maximum )as you wish also attack speed increase and charge time faster! and you can do same along with gunslinger like allowing the player to hold dual guns instead of 1!
then we come for the royal guardian and the dodger (change the name if you can its awful) he can make more than a single dash for example or he can jump and dash forward into the air or even better if you wish to IF these styles are going to be with levels you can make the dodger teleport! like the movie "jumper" or vergil sparta in the game devil may cry 3 inside the arena of the map while he fights! as for the royal guardian you can make the players shield like the one in lockdown PVP you can make his shield biger stronger protects and heals every one inside its field! also upgrading the shield bash by make a shockwave on bashing the shield into the ground to make a shock wave around the player (like the torjan does when he use attack up) so this is 1st idea i post here i hope you guys look into it and ofc you can add better ideas about the style than mine but i just liked to send the main point thank you for your time reading this

nah
personally i kinda think thad ruin the game. i know they have added a few leveling systems over the years but i think this one would be a bit too much... not that i h8 ur idea i just think it doesnt fit in with the game very much.
For one, in the future, try to spread your ideas out a bit. Reading over that is doable but what you're trying to make us read gets lost in the block of text you've got there.
Two, not a huge fan of the idea. Currently your "class" is determined entirely by what gear you choose - which is great because you can change classes on the fly without any huge time investment (other than alchemy orbs). When you add things outside of gear, it takes a focus off making a large arsenal and instead puts it into one thing. While leveling up a character would be interesting, making us attempt new playstyles (without requiring anything out of our comfort zone) via gear is the best kind of "specialization" we can ask for.
Passive abilities and dual wielding are things we've gone over many times in many different iterations. More passive abilities would be great, but only when applied to gear in the same way our current stats work (Sword damage bonus: Medium, for example). Dual wielding is just reskinned current weapons, and at that point I'd rather us just see new guns than old combo guns that won't be of much use in the clockworks but be OP in lockdown.
Attack patterns should remain as they are. Combat in Spiral Knights is fast, fluid, and simple... However under the surface are crazy amounts of mechanics to make you an amazing fighter. Adding additional complexity to combat would take away from the easy to learn, hard to master style we have in the game.
