ayy i just felt like posting today got a problem with that? huh huh...
Anyways since you are here dont you think an open world in this game would be awesome and instead of us going just to missions arcade etc we can literally fight the enemies who tries to get near also having a friendly duel anywhere instead of being limited to LD BS.

Open world would work, however it would need to be optimized in a much different way. There is no way we could pull off open world in the current engine - look at apocrea if you want an example of load times and how unoptimized it can get.
If we had a Spiral Knights 2 built in, say, unity, then it might be more of a "let's do it!" sort of thing. As it stands 10+ years of code has left a lot of poor optimization.
The thought is nice but the actuality of the situation isn't something I would jump on all that quickly.

For Honor!
Open world idea is great, have a open world like latest legend of zelda breath of the wild and combat system like For Honor.
It will be great though..
Sure the idea of an open world for Spiral Knights is just... Remarkable... But the devs don't have enough resources to do something like this :/ that's why there are so many regular maintenances
