Is there a way to throw bombs

instead of placing them at your feet? If not... why is there not a way to do this?

Not that I disagree with the decision, but it seems a bit strange that there are gremlins who can toss bombs, but players can't.

Just as weird as the fact
Just as weird as the fact that gremlin mages can cast spells.
All will come with time.
Handguns are a ranged attack, swords are up close, and bombs as they are now are sort of in between to offer variety. If bombs were thrown they would become a ranged attack as well.
And by now it would also be a problem with many level layouts if you could lob a bomb over to open up areas that were otherwise designed to run around to get to.
