Make em cheaper. That's it. Its worthless having recipes in Basil's shop you can just go and get at any time.
Basil Prices Regarding HoH Recipes
Ah sorry. I forgot to look for the suggestion. I just did this in anger of how useless and stupid it is.
Funny how with time I view things a bit differently, yet still similarly.
I would say Basil prices should remain the same, but Hall of Heroes recipes should be increased by 20%. Perhaps on top of that, Basil can have "sales" on random items in stock, which could reduce specific recipe prices by 10% to 15% for that visit.
The idea of Basil having stuff for the same price as elsewhere that's readily available makes the game a bit too easy. Making recipes overall something that can be a player economy again would be wonderful.
How long could it possibly take to find the bit of code that determines the amount of crowns charged for HoH recipes, add 10% to the base price/code in a 110% multiplier, and implement the change in the next update? I've taken programming classes and I've dabbled in game making, so while I'm no expert I'm pretty sure this would take all of 10 minutes to implement, if you already have a good grip on the game's code. Which Grey Havens should by now, if they didn't already.
I think that the main draw of Basil recipes is that they're unbound, but the problem is that why buy something from the AH when you can just get it from the HoH for cheaper?
I do think that the HoH recipes should be increased, however: e.g. 2*=1,500, 3*=5,000, 4*=12,000, 5*=30,000.
Those prices are probably too expensive, but hey.
The increase in price makes players actually want to seek out the better price from players, or go Basil hunting for their recipes. With an occasional sale, players can grab popular recipes and sell them for under the HoH amount and still make profit (grab vog cub cap for 21,250 from Basil, sell for 28,500 on AH. Profit!)
As for how long it would take to implement, it all depends. Sometimes things are done in a day, other times stuff is lost and causes unforeseen problems, especially for a project that's been going on for over half a decade.
It's been suggested before but yeah this would be really nice... anything to make the clockworks more relevant.
