Servers are computers just like what you're using, except instead of user functionality like say, youtube vids and game clients, they're set up to run huge distributed systems. These computers still need to be maintained though, just like you maintain your home PC. More so, really. If something is odd on your computer, you notice.... not so much when the computer in question is just one of many that sits running software all day.

i just wish
I just wish theyd make a change log for every major or minor update unless its just some minor bug fixes. I hate having to sit at my screen, watching it update thinking "What did they do this time? Who knows because they never give details..."
They're probably still doing the maintenance, something probably went wrong that they're fixing.
