Yung Manlet is gonna hold that L and bounce before this game takes more of his soul. It was a good five years, but I think it's a legit time to throw in the towel. 6900 hours across all accounts, I can say that I've seen most of what this game had to offer and saw too many friends leave. I kind of know what it's like to be an old timer who has to watch his friends die now. Tis a sad sight and it really broke my little heart each time. I'll cherish the few good memories I had with this game and bid farewell to you guys! Stay strong til the bitter end, boys! Sayonara.

From your friendly neighborhood knight, Manlet.

My list of appreciation

Might as well share my story here.

Greetings Knights! My name is Silvernickel and i've been around since the mist energy, and heres my list of the knights that i hold dear in my heart.

1) WanderingWarrior: The person who introduced me into SK, my mentor, and the person who guided me until i was Vanguard, but vanished before i completed my training. He made a comeback after i succeeded him, and then left again. I'll never forget you my master.

2) Clockwork-Lullaby & Scruffy-Days: Two friendly couple who invited me into their guild "Snipes ToKnight". Shared a lot of great memories from the place, they even promoted me into an officer. Sadly the guild is now dead with 0 active members and i finally left the guild, but these two i will remember forever.

3) Freddy-Bad-Add: A recruit from Snipes ToKnight who constantly joined my FSC run while i was climbing my way up to the top. He was being annoying at first, joining without consent with his low level gear, then i thought perhaps if i can train him, we’d make a great partner, also someone to run FSC everyday with. T’was a beginning of a great friendship and the best decision i’ve ever made. After months being his mentor and enjoying all SK’s content while farming together, Freddy was ready on his own and I left SK for a year. Eventually he became better than me and shared his success stories of becoming one of the great PvE and LD players, he even became Guild Master in the guild! We’re still online buddies and even though he has shifted his attention to another game, i could always call him whenever i needed him back.

4) Calyos: A great player whom i met while farming “Shroud of the Apocrea” event. We clicked almost immediately, and from then on became good friends. Until this day you can find us hanging around Haven whilst still accomplishing great feats in the Cradle.

5) Uberer: A pro player and a friendly knight who i encountered in FSC while i was heating my gear. I was happy that he accepted my friend request as it would help my FSC run easier and faster, i was the support at the time. We also did other event missions together and remain good friends ingame. After i left my guild "Snipes Toknight", i wandered into multiple other guilds until finally Uberer invited me into his, i enjoyed the environment and decided to settle there. I was also promoted as an Officer two days ago. Thank you Uberer.

6) Liu-Kon: A person whom i met recently and has made my dreams came true. While i was in the early stages of playing SK, the item “Sprinkle Aura” was my dream item. However i quickly in love with the item “Hacked Aura” and idea of buying Sprinkle Aura was abandoned until only recently. Thank you Liu-Kon for the letting me buy the aura, he is also a very friendly character.

These are the knights that i hold dear in my heart, others from my friend list who also helped in making who i am today in SK, i am also very grateful to all of them. Wish i could know all of you knights here better so i could add all of you in this list lol. In any case, i’m Silvernickel and this is my story.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

P.S: Feel free to say hi to me whenever you see me in-game! :)

well this is a cute thread

I've had a rather lengthy time in Spiral Knights myself. Lot of people in the game who have had a direct impact on me, whether it be past or present. On we go:

Pandafishie: One of my first great friends I can remember. I had them on my friends list for a while, and I don't remember why... But I know that our actual friendship stemmed around when slooms were accidentally re-introduced. Lots of fun times with dry humor with 'em. Introduced me to the first real "group" of people I would play the game with, as I had mostly been a lone knight until then.

Freezie: I still have fond memories of Freezie and pals. There were about 2 or 3 friends in this group, and then I tagged along. These were the first people I ever really went on to farm Firestorm Citadel with, and helped me overcome that irrational fear of the level. Or perhaps it was pretty rational, since I was still wearing full valkyrie at the time and fire is scary.

Njthug: Here's a big one, but it's still true. Njthug (drunkenly, to be fair) invited me to his guild a little over 3 years ago simply because he recognized my name. And was fighting with an officer over who was cooler and thus gets to send me an invite. This pulled me out of my perpetual alone-ness that I had adopted, never having been in a guild. I still reside in the guild as it makes me feel at home. I wouldn't have gotten as close to all the amazing people in Echo of Silence had it not been for that silly situation those three years ago.

Hightech-Chaos: This is someone who is long gone, but still remains a fond memory. Hightech-Chaos was a friend I made when I was still all on my lonesome, and was a bit of fun to hang around with. He ended up leaving the game for another a long time ago, but remains special to me simply due to his charitable nature. To this day, he remains one of the only people to spontaneously gift me any sort of item, and I've been absolutely sure to craft those items up to their full potential despite them likely just being an afterthought. I feel like he'd be proud to know that the cobalt helm he gave me all those years ago has grown up to become an almirian crusader helm. :)

Teddysmacker: Plenty of you are probably familiar with Teddysmacker due to them sorta just... Being in haven all the time. However, they've proven to be one of the most amazing people I've ever had the privilege of getting close to. We clicked pretty early on, and still have a little something that I don't foresee ending anytime in the near future.
(They literally bought little wooden flowers because they reminded them of me. I don't know how to describe how that feels in words, but it helps make bad days better!)

Miabot: Oh ho. Mia. I honestly don't know where to start with her. She's probably one of the most fun people I've come across - she loves life in a similar way that I do, and while she has this really gooey and adorable exterior she's got a real fighter's spirit underneath and loves chatting with me about subjects that go beyond smalltalk. She's the sort of friend I would wander into the unknown with and be happy just to have her next to me because I know that it can't get so bad with her nearby.

Recon-Ranger-Lia: Y'hear that Lia? Didn't forget you! Lia has been an interesting journey. Not one I ever regret taking, but one that definitely resonates with me. Lia is a very polarized personality that I've grown to love. In a way, she reminds me of my older sister, but I'm her elder instead. Being the youngest of my family, being able to play the "older sibling" has been something I never knew I would enjoy. It's a wondrous position and I'm so happy that I've been able to play a role not just in her game life, but her personal life as well, acting as watchful eye on her rather rambunctious shenanigans.

Retequizzle: Ret was a wonderful sparring partner around the time I joined Echo of Silence. He always knew how to keep things humorous (and also very real), but you either enjoyed him or despised him. He got me caught in the former, and while time has whittled away at the two of us, I still hold him in high regards. Lots of great memories and silly moments came out of being in the same place at the same time.

Plenty of other knights have had wonderful effects on my life. Krakob, Digicom, Dogrock, Fehzor, Zeddy, and Mynameis-Seven are a few that come to mind. Lots of others are people who I feel like I could call upon in a time of need and they'd be happy to be by my side.

... Additionally, I want to say that quite a few of the game masters have had lasting impressions and influences on me. With all the various things they've had to deal with that I've sent their way(and always with a witty comeback!) it's always a joy to find myself in need of getting in contact with them. So, I guess they get a place in my honorable mentions. :)

How did no one mention this guy.

Solotron

Where does one even BEGIN to talk about this guy?!

The dude literally got me back into SK. He's one of the nicest guys I've met in this game and when he handed down the role of head GM to me after just 2 months of being a part of Wish Feather, i knew this guy was one of the greatest players of Spiral Knights.
