You guys probably get like 50 posts like these per day, but hopefully someone can educate me too... I wanted to ask, is SK doing good? Has the population increased at all? Price of energy inflated? Easy to get a party? etc.

I'm not especially fond of small communities, especially dwindling ones. They just seem so unstable and prone to changes in the game imho.
Honestly I don't want to come back; the game is empty as usual and is hardly updated.
But maybe I'll be tempted to play if the game if a major update comes out. I just feel like the game isn't... doing well enough, for me to come back
And the promo boxes just add some insult to my injury tbh. The constant promo updates raise a red flag for me. Not a huge red flag, but it makes me a little cautious honestly.
Cutting to the chase - SK just isn't my type of game right now...
I just got back into the game, and even posted the JK on the RotMG reddit (people who play RotMG and Spiral Knights get it.) From what I can tell, the playerbase is dwindling, but people like you are the people that need to come back. There are plenty of squires and knights, but everyone knows that the grinding to get from knight elite to vanguard is based on luck (or you can just find me and run a vana for 8k to get an advanced orb ez pz) and tends to be so tedious that people just stop playing all together. The retention rate from knight to vanguard seems pretty low (based on personal experience) so the people who have played before have to come back. :(
Anyways... energy price is huge at 10.5k cr per 100 energy average, I find it easy enough to get a party, but sometimes can take a bit, and population has decreased (I have not seen a tier 2 LD in months).
Come back to the game. I quit for a while too because my guild went inactive, my friends quit, and I felt all alone. The more people the better.
Anyways, the game is in bad shape as we speak, but the slightly smaller community sure feels fairly close knit.
