Well folks, it looks like we're finally getting actual brand new content in Spiral Knights next year!!

Now as many of the Game Masters have said on the forums here (shoutouts to Hera and Cronus.) that we're gonna get new content. As you know, the last "content" updates were just new variants of things already in the game.

Now i'm not trying to hate on Gray Havens and i know that they were only able to do so much with what they had at the time. But TBH i found the last few updates (such as the volcanic update that was released November of this year) kinda lacking in some parts. But hey, what else can you do?

Well, maybe think of new stuff to add.

Which brings me to the topic of discussion!

What would you guys like to see added into Spiral Knights in 2017? New weapon types? New Armor? New missions?

Post your thoughts below. Who knows? maybe the Game Masters will see this and get some ideas? After all, Community Input is important.

I know im dreaming high

I would like to see a 5* sword for the winmillion branch, It's already such an amazing sword ^u^. Also, something far more easy to obtain, grey heavens could make a reskin of the flourish into a almire themed spear, to complete the almire crusader set.

I don't count casinos or gh-update as new content. What people should want is for them to finish the story and then give pvp at least some attention.

Lions ands tigers and bears , oh my

Ya. A final piece to the "core" story would be swell. One last farmable boss and a loot pool for it.

Also on board for the 5star million sword. I'm all aboard that hype train.

Pvp does need attention. But that's not gonna get them any new players. That only really pleases people who already play.

The biggest thing I could hope for, is a smoother transition from 1* to 5*. I did it myself before the days of orbs. But I hear from new players that jumping the tiers can be a very painful grind. The mission rewards are a big help to this, but I think it can go one step further.

Another little hope I have, is for there to be more super rare monster drops in the game. With the recent fix to darkfang. It made me realize how much hype can be made by one item. It would be sweet to see a lot more items like this (even just tier relevant reskins). There would have to be a lot of different ones and at a very high rarity. It would give all players an equal chance to get some really cool unique gear. Maybe like a hammer from a lumber arm that works like the troika. Or chromalisk tougue as a flourish. We already have some slime reskins. And some devlite stuff would be sweet.

Regardless. I'm hype. I got back into this game in November and have been falling in love all over again. The game still has its flaws. But it also still has its charm.

See, the transition isn't too bad, however the issue is that progress isn't paced very well. Missions speed you along, and leave you wondering what to do once you hit a hall of heroes progress wall. Players suddenly have to grind after being simply passed on from one place to the next, and it can be really disorienting for a player who hasn't even heard of "the arcade".

Should the game pace players better (ie, requiring exploration of the arcade to progress, or require x levels be completed before the next mission is unlocked), it would reduce complaints massively. As it stands, you're never ready by the time you hit a grindwall.

I ran through the game on an alt to see what the hubbub was about, and at the end of the day, playing the game on elite and running arcade between missions had me progressing through the game relatively quickly and without much issue. I didn't have to outright grind for anything, honestly.

Just a thought/opinion

Going off the mission rewards staving off some of the grind, would it be a good suggestion to have the mission rewards give enough orbs (because it's always the orbs causing the grind wall) to get through the Hall of Heroes missions if the player were to just go through the game with just the default Azure Guardian set. This in turn would allow players to get through the game without painful grind walls (albeit with only Azure Guardian) and the players who decide to deviate from that path would have to go through the extra grind to obtain the equipment they desire. This way, people who just want to progress can do so while the people who wants specific things would have to put in extra effort to do so.
