could be a darkfang shield drop re-adjustment, setting it back to infintesimal levels of obtaining the things. Either that or event setup.
Or they could be doing something new.

Doubt Apocrea, since we got that right before Winterfest. My money's on Kataclysmic Confrontation, or (fingers crossed?!?!) new content.
